Insane. LA getting cheaper with every deal.

Yep, its getting pretty crazy :)

      • Hi rep. Thanks for the post! Looking for return flights to LAX from Sydney in September. Any sales coming up?

    • Shame about the AUD, although it's at an eight month high now.

      • I wonder what the air fare would be if they are on a par, or does it matter?

        • I don't think it would vary too much, one would think it would reduce the cost in regards to the various US taxes etc. built into the fare.

And on Dreamliners with direct flights from Melbourne…ridiculously good prices.

  • These are getting close to SE Asia prices… so good.

    • +2

Each sale I think "Ok, this will be the cheapest they go". And then…

      • Yeah, considering how low the AU dollar is it's the equivalent (i guess, no calculator/motivation to work it out)
of around $500 before the dollar dropped.

        • If you take one of these flights, be sure to take another pic from DisneyLand :)

        • @IWantThatFlight:

almost cheap enough to do a $1000 round trip to spend one day in Disneyland :)

        • @SBOB:

and more then half that will be spent IN disneyland :D

        • @BargainKen:

nah, I could do an entire disneyland day without spending anything but admission (and going out to downtown disney for lunch)

I won a $1000 Flight Centre voucher from this comp posted on OzB a few months ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223826

I think I may use it towards this! :D

    • Oh wow, congrats.

    • Congrats! But why didn't mark yourself as a winner?

    • Are you going to share it with us ? lol

  • If you find any for AA can you let me know chief? Looking to do a status challenge with AA for the month of July. :D

the first date for Melbourne is funny, you have to come back as soon as you get there.

    • I hadn't noticed that. I've found a more useful replacement (though someone did actually search for Dep. 26/Mar Ret. 28/Mar). Thanks for pointing this out.

  • punched in some dates for August as well and seems to be available for above prices

  • Hey! Any good deals for a one way ticket to Europe (anywhere) from Sydney at the end of June/beginning of July? Best I can find is ~$700 to London on 28th June - is that a good price for that time of year?

    • +1

$700 is about as good as you'll ever find one way to Europe. Your alternative might be to buy/accumulate the frequent flyer points… :)

      • Or if you must pay cash, you could possibly do something like AirAsia/Scoot to Bangkok and then Norwegian Air up to Oslo and then another flight across from Oslo to London.

Bit too troublesome for my liking though..

edit: Just did some searching. mid-July you might be able to do SYD-KUL on AirAsia for $199 (not including baggage/food) then $380ish (19:10 departure) on Vietnam via Hanoi up to London.

Connection time won't be nice though. You'll have to either get in at about 04:00 and wait 15 hours, or get in 17:30 the night before and overnight.

      • Ah sweet, that's what I thought but I wasn't sure and didn't want to regret the purchase - thanks!

    • dude where is this 700 dolla ticket deal? sharing is caring😬😬😬

  • LA getting cheaper….

  • Are you trying to get me to go to LA OP ?, cause this is how you get me to go to LA.

Given your name, I expected you to be a bit more patriotic! :)

  • Wonder what the chances are for Hawaii return in september. Doing a four week US tour and want to spend the last week in Hawaii.

Thinking might fly Sydney to mainland US via hawaii to break up the trip, then fly hawaii to vegas to avoid LAX.

  • Hi, I needed a one way flight from LAX to MEL within the mentioned travel period. However, the one way flight seems more expensive than the return one!! Can you do something about it? Thanks :)

Also, what is the refund policy, in case I need to change/cancel the flight? Sorry for the silly question, I could not find it in the site..

    • You know iwtf isn't an airline right?

      • I thought them more like a travel agent kind of service (I know they are not exactly that). I might be completely wrong. But still I appreciate their work and posts in OzBargain. :)

      Hi webtonmoy,

We compare lots of different companies (including airlines and resellers like Expedia). Unfortunately if the one-way fares are more expensive, thats just how it is.

As for the refund policy. It depends which company you are planning on buying the flights through (we do not sell airfares).

      • Thanks for your reply. I understand :)

Thanks OP, used Qantas.com price match guarantee with bestjet.com, so got family of five to USA for less than $4k during Easter School Hols with 1000 bonus points for the price match. VERY happy.

    • Good work!
