Prawning Locations (South Coast), Help!

Hi, I've posted this on whirlpool but didn't get much reply so i'll try here. So I'm thinking about trying to go prawning tomorrow as I have always wanted to try, and would like to hear suggestions from you guys. I heard Lake Tabourie and Burrill Lake are great places to go prawning at night. I will be bringing waterproof torches and prawning nets. Can you guys give me some advices about prawning as this is my first time and if you know a better location I will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    PM sorted.

  • more shrimp than prawn in NSW.
    visit Tassies for real prawns - bigger than the king prawns in fish market.

    • Could you advise some good places where is Tassie to get these?

          @kima:

          sadly, heard their local fish market was sold to foreign ownership. Now produce exports directly to strong country.
          can only taste our home grown Australian finest when my kid travels overseas to visit grandparents. how ironic!

          guess many of us are not low key with the best kept secrets - so to avoid the tragedy of the commons and commercial exploitation. would not mind to share with few mates and ozb for family fun, but will not advertise. hence, why OP got zero response from the smart cookies in whirlpool.

          the fish shop in Launcheston near Maccas is pretty good.with local produce. Frozen off cut salmon was around $9 a pack. just remember must have "esky (no holes)" sealed and taped if going on the plane.

        • @eatwell365: thank you

  • When I was nipper the family used to drag a few out of Sussex Inlet, when they were running!
