Tom Clancy's - The Division

I don't normally go for games like this but felt like trying something new and liked what I saw trailer wise and information out there, anyway bought this game on Friday should be coming in the post tomorrow. Really looking forward to it if anyone is on board and wants to play on Xbox one gamertag is GMAN358. I will provide some thoughts later in the week what its like.

By the way bought it at JB Hifi for $69 plus $3.5 shipping if anyone is interested cheapest price I could find at the time.

  • Welp, bought my copy for PC… based on the beta though, unless you plan on playing with friends, it might get boring because if you're alone in the online area, perpare to get your butt handed to you several times, even in groups but not as likely.

    • It's real easy to join groups with randoms. Has matchmaking for everything including free roam.

      • Yeah, there wasnt match makng in open beta… At least I didnt see it lol

  • I'm interested to know what your thoughts are on this game. Keep us posted.

    • Will do, playing tonight!

    • Played about three hours last night, really love it. The game play takes a little to get used to but its all really well laid out. Graphics are outstanding and its challenging plus I really like the building your own character element!
I haven't been into the dark zone yet going to wait until I level up more.

If you have any questions feel free to ask

  • Played most of the night last night. Extrememly polished!

    Really enjoying it!

DarkZone scares me……I need to do alot more work on my character before I head in there!

    • What platform? If Xbox one pm gamertag

      • PC sorry.

Anyone gaming on PC PM me your Uplay username

  • Damn I was hoping you didn't like it lol. Now I have to buy it. Not sure which platform though

  • Dark zone is actually really cool. I only play with one friend and yet have only been fired upon twice. Once was accidental and the second was a brutal betrayal by a group of 4 we were helping out.

Don't be scared of the DZ, surprisingly everyone's there for the same reason, I've placed plenty of bags on the extraction with randoms around and nothings gone amiss.

Funny story though, we were at extraction and the gear rope was about to come down, one of the groups started asking if they should take us down, unknowingly your mic is default voice activation, so I just started throwing down turrets and roller mines (which don't attack unless they attack you or vice versa) anyway I got my gear out and they weren't happy about it. :)

    • Nice work! I can't believe how cool the game is, what level are you?

I will have to give DZ a go shortly im level 7 so probably need to level up a bit more, if your xbox add me GMAN358

PC unfortunately, I was only level 13 or so when I went into the DZ, am level 17 now.

I agree its shaping up to be pretty amazing, every time I go to work, cant wait to go home and play. That hasn't happened in awhile.

        • Whats ur uplay username. Im on pc
          Vertabray

        • @britta: haha I'm a little late to start on this game… bloody slow internet took ages to download.

Will add you on PC tonight… my username should be sinr_88 will have to confirm when I get on tonight.

        • every time I go to work, cant wait to go home…

          That's how I feel everytime I go to work… =P

        • @ProjectZero:

Both added, some variation of Maz.

it gets old fast, especially if you're running solo.
Hardly anyone uses ingame voice comms and boss fights become nothing more than bullet sponges with horde mode enemies rushing you.

    • What about end game?

      • can't comment on end game as i'm only half way there but if early levels are anything to go by i'd say it's only going to get more frustrating and repetitious. The Dark Zone might be the only saving grace but realistically how long can you do the same thing over and over and over?

DZ was what I hated in closed beta. Too many people grouped up together against you. Well I bought it anyway thanks to the brazilian trick so hopefully they have made it more balanced.

        • I knew this coming into this game… played the Open beta, DZ is fun, but if there are a bunch of douche bags just running around and exploiting some issues with the way DZ works it's not worth playing.

Effectively, in DZ a non rogue player can support a rogue player (i.e. healing and helping them up when they go down) without penalties and a victim can't do anything about it because once you shoot the non rogue you get ganked by everyone else.

After a few nights playing I would have to agree with you, it doesn't really offer anything different from mission to mission. The whole challenge of leveling up and getting gear is still exciting. Wish they changed the missions up a bit more still looking forward to getting in the DZ. I reckon with the missions and the bosses make it a time restriction thing and make them have less health.

      • it would've been nice if they added a bit more dynamicism to the overall world. Things like random enemy patrols, reclaim locations and the like instead of the static pass through once type of thing we have at the moment. It's more or less a themepark which abruptly hits a wall when you hit level 30 -_-

So tempted to pick this up but I just don't have the time for it unfortunately. It looks and sounds great but I guess this is the drawbacks in getting heavily into sim racing (which I adore) You just lose so much time to play other games that pop up all the time. I cleared through my PS4 game draw and found I had 6 sealed cases in there (Just Cause 3, Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls, Uncharted Trilogy, Ass Creed Syn, Gravity Rush, Rainbow 6 Siege) which are actually 9 games lol. I returned R6 Siege yesterday and couldn't bring myself to buy this. I still want it and Hitman tbh but I'll have to finish 3 games before I buy another one.
