is there any way to get them to put in on eBay, so I can take advantage of the 20% TECHI coupon?

Find a fridge(Fridge A) that is both on their site and their ebay store. Walk into the store and make sure they sell the fridge(Fridge B) that you want. Find a salesperson and say that The Good Guys store on ebay is having a 20% off sale and see if they would match the 20% off Fridge A's price to save you the hassle of creating an ebay account. If they say no, then ask for the best price. If their best price is nowhere near the 20%, then go to another store. Once you find a store that would do it, just casually ask what is the best price they would do on Fridge B.

This is the customer version of bait and switch. :)

TGG's stores won't match the 20% ebay sale, as it's ebay that are footing the 20% saving, NOT TGG

      • I know they won't and they have no obligation to. But you can say to the salesperson that if they don't, you will just order from ebay, minus their sales commission. I know some products like aircons, they can't discount them by 20%, but appliances with higher margins, they can.

I know this, because I did it at the last 20% ebay sale. I had some discounted TGG giftcards to get rid off. I asked for the best price for a few items bearing in mind that I can get 20% off on ebay. There were some items that they couldn't give me 20% off, but some were more than 20% off. My fridge was one of them because the ticketed price was RRP. I ended up getting my aircons through ebay, because the in store discounts were only about 5% off.

      • Just confirmed this with a friend at TGG.
He usually gives me a really decent price on items, this time he said he can't even come close as that sale will put it below cost.

Just bought the item (fridge) straight from ebay this time.

  • I'm unsure whether this is a serious post.

Anyways, you can lodge a complaint with the eBay investigation unit about Good Guys for not including all their stock (available on their own website) on their ebay store. Here https://goo.gl/SsAhv

    • They have to list all their stock? Do you have a source for that?

    • I was thinking more along the lines of good will gesture, but its interesting your mind went their.

You could try contact seller on their eBay page and asking if they can add it to the sale?

Probably not, but doesn't cost you much to do it.

    • k thx, I might try that.

      • I tried the same thing during a Dick Smith sale, after going in-store and seeing that they had it in stock. They said the reason it wasn't listed on eBay was because they only had floor stock left

eBay allows click n collect. They could have programmed in the stores that had stock.

Whatever excuse Dick Smith gave you for their appalling service from their online store or eBay was total BS.

  • Had the same problem.. the item that I wanted wasn't on the ebay store
