Who Is Selling The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for The Cheapest Price?

Hello,

Where have you found this phone to be the cheapest outright?

Not looking for any plans as they end up costing more and don't see it worth it, seeing how can get BYO sim plans can get you 10GB data for $40 (if bundled with optus cable plan)

For me I think HN with the sign up off of the $25 off discount which would bring it to $1223.

Also how long do you think it will take for the price to reduce?

Cheers!

    Kogan i think.

My S7 edge arrived today. It is bloody beautiful. Everything I want in a phone except the heat from frequent use. xD

    • Beauty! What colour did you settle for?

Silver. Got it from Optus. The Gear VR is coming in 1-2 weeks time.

    • There's heat issues with frequent use? How hot does it get? My current Galaxy S4 gets uncomfortably hot when browsing facebook or twitter for 20 minutes.

      • It's not that bad. The heat is tolerable.

  • New deal here:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/238439
Black and silver s7 edge for $987?

    • Wow, thats pretty nice. No warranty but you get the Snapdragon chipset (supposedly better graphics processor).

  • I'd probably consider going down the plan route. If you're with Optus, try contacting retentions (maybe even for your broadband) as they can do things like crediting your account if you recontract. Then go one further, contact Optus, see if you can get the $92 (80+12) plan they had yesterday which gets you 8gb data (6gb +2gb bonus), sometimes they do if you ask specifically for it. Just say oyu planned on signing up but the site went into maintenance (it did at 10pm last night for the new plans).

    Now, the maths.
    HN price:
    Phone: 1223
    Plan (inc discount): 40 * 24 = 960
    Total after 24 months= 2183
10gb per data but more flexible to change plans

    Optus (92 plan for example):
    Phone: $12 * 24 = 288
    Plan (inc disount): 70 * 24 = 1680
    Total after 24 months = 1968
6gb data (maybe you can get yesterdays plan was 2gb data but no 'new phone offer'), less flexible

And now, this is where you leverage the retentions team to throw in some credit to keep you there. They gave me a $50 credit pretty quickly (apparently their max) to recontract. And the kicker is that Optus has extended the VR Gear promo so you'll get it if you go through online (use the chat function), a bigger saving again.

That said, there are better byo sim plans out there.

In general, I'd go the previous year flagship outright during EOFY sales but if you want a launch day deal, a plan is pretty good, lets you keep your money in your bank as well.

    • Hi sheepdog, just hijacking a litte bit but you sound like you know what you're talking about…do you think EOFY sales will bring samsung S6 price down further than it is at the moment? I understand there's 3 months to go so quite likely it will be lower than it is today but usually is there a significant drop?

      • Can't really say tbh, it stands to reason that the price should drop pretty well. Best bet might be to check what the S5 was priced at EOFY last year and go from there. With DSE out, it might bel ess competitive but generally sales do ramp up and then wait out for an eBay discount to clinch the deal :)

My personal experience: I bought my last phone, a G2 during EOFY sales just after the G3 was released and it was quite a pretty good deal. Was TGG, combined with an ebay discount.

any thoughts or experience with this seller?
And how to tell if its snapdragon or exnyos cpu?

    • After a e-mail back from, the model they have is the g395F….so the Exynos model.
That's unfortunate, would probably have purchased it at that price if it was the snapdragon.

  • Do we get the exy or snapdragon here?

    • Exynos. Besides that one really damning review popularised by Forbes regarding the GP, both processors look about the same. A great many Americans are whinging on reddit about not getting the Exynos model due to other things such as (apparently), poorer video processing and (supposedly) poorer battery life in the snapdragon.

I was pretty devo when I saw the GPU disparity since I mostly want to play with VR but I've since changed my tune.

  • Buy it from kogan, it is around ~920$AU Delivered. It is grey import though, but i think 300$ difference is not worth for local stock

    • The problem with Kogan is that they won't specify which model they will end up delivering to you.
You could easily end up with a model that doesn't support some of the radio bands used in Australia.

  • Plan or outright? Looking for the best Big Data plan for the Samsung S7 please :-D
    Thanks in advance
