Sydney Morning Herald Article on How to Save $$$

SMH have an article titled: "How to find the best discounts in Sydney"

Amateur hour, really.

Do you guys do any of these things? I reckon the only one I would utilise is the Entertainment book.

    Very weak sauce.
My guess is a press release for Health fund discount movie tickets and the new entertainment book hit some sub-editors desk yesterday and they handed it to Lucy Cormack to "make a story our of this". She is actually a pretty good journalist from her regular stories, but this is very thin stuff.

    • Are you saying Journalists just repeat press releases? Surely not they have ethics don't they? They never reveal their sources - guess why!!

Now TDT has ended they need to go to the printed press instead with dodgy promotions wrapped up as news reports

    I agree, I prefer Tabasco.

I don't read these news websites "how to save guides"…….they're usually just 10 ways to save then in the last point they encourage you to buy something that will solve all your problems.

    But thank you :)

  • lol welp.

well it's true, our motto is pretty much never pay full price, except we're just infinitely better at it.

i mean the fact that she didn't mention CR to buy Woolies e-gift cards is an instant fail right there.

  • Yes these types of posts are just for having words on the website, you can hardly find something useful there because they don't make a proper research…

  • Actually, this was a much better article than some I've read. They'll make mention of things that you'd need money for in the first place, and people on a strict budget might not want to pay for them. This was common sense, like paying attention to benefits you might already have and not realise. Many people have no idea what they can access, like cheaper movie tickets and discounts for goods and services they might already have been buying or planning to buy,
