Fashion Lane with 150+ stores, price alert, price history, now what?

Hi fellow Ozbargainers,

Some of you may already know Fashion Lane: http://fashionlane.com.au, in case some of you don't Fashion Lane is a price comparison website for fashion / apparel.

This website was started by Ed and Tony as hobbie. We are Melbourne based and have been working on this website for almost 1.5 years now.

The reason we created Fashion Lane was simple, instead of visiting whole bunch of websites to find best sale, we created Fashion Lane so you can see all sales on single site.

We have also developed other features to help you find best deals such as Price History, Price Alerts.

Some questions for you guys:
Do you find Fashion Lane useful? Would you use it regularly?
Anything you dislike about Fashion Lane?
What would you like to see on Fashion Lane? More stores? Better search filters?

Any feedback would be really appreciated.

  No complaint from me. I've frequented some of the stores' websites on a regular basis, now I can do it much faster on Fashion Lane. So have been using this religiously.

  Ozbargain tips ? " This week" sort by "discount" :)

  The local stores are plenty, Would be good if you can include more of the European stores, since some of them will remove VAT, which lowers the prices even more.

    You mean like price drop within this week? Actually there is "Price Drop Since" filter on the left where you can select Today, Yesterday or This Week. If you click on "This Week" it should show you all the items price dropped within this week. Hope this helps.

    I have just finished adding East Dane today (EDIT: sorry just realised it's not a Euro store..), which should be published tomorrow around noon. Let me know if there are any other European stores you interested in and I will add them to the list.

  Been using it for awhile now and proven it's worth many times. Only grievance is that the update to pricing usually is late afternoon instead of real time.

  Able to put in any stores from Singapore by any chance?

    Hey victorngel,

    Thanks for using Fashion Lane and glad to know it's useful.

    There are actually two price updates during the day. First price update is around 10am with about 70% of products updated, and there's another update at about 4pm with about 95% products updated. The price and sale alerts are sent after price update in the afternoon. Hope this information helps although it's clearly not as good as real time.

    I can look into adding Singapore stores. Are there particular Singapore stores you would like to see on Fashion Lane?

  hi, i was on fl just now and there's deals from cotton on, underarmour, david jones that aren't on sale but show up on the site.

    Do you mean FL showing incorrect prices? Would you still have the FL url for the non sale products you referring to?

        Hmmm… Prices on Fashion Lane are updated once a day. So my guess is merchants updated their product prices in between Fashion Lane's daily updates, which caused price mismatch.

        Perhaps I can look into making price updates more frequent, or at least for the popular stores…

  Nice website!

  Not an easy one to develop. I created a website a few years back with similar functionality and purpose, but it was less focused on fashion, and more on home decor, toys, electronics etc. It's taken a backseat for me these days as I'm juggling another online business, but I understand the constant challenges in trying to ensure accurate product and price data, and also the difficulty of dealing with huge databases containing millions of products. It is not easy.

  Well done though. Looks great and runs really fast! Really nice mobile interface too.
