pre-Honeymoon Sydney around $500- $800

Dear ozbargainers,

Going for a short honeymoon in sydney. Any suggestion of places to stay unique that are not just sydney city. we are busy with work so we thought we would do a quick pre- honeymoon on the weekend before we go back to work. I am willing to spend around 500$ and can drive to the destination or cheap flight.
Any suggestions will help

This… Get cheap flights and stay somewhere nice.

      Crown Towers for example.

A weekend Honeymoon is that really what your OH wants though??

      • Exactly, go to Melbourne or something, just how many honeymoons do you plan on having in your lifetime? You might regret it unless this is a pre-honeymoon until you get to the real one. Think about it, everyone's busy, you've got to make time for the things and people that matter to you.

        • yeah sorry, its pre honeymoon

        • @tradiesunited: ok good (you might want to edit your main post as this changes things ).

My recommendation would be to see if you can get decent flights to Melbourne , then find a 4 or 5 star hotel to relax in for the weekend.

I find the best part of Melbourne is the check-in counter at the airport…

    1. Kiama,
    2. Blue Mountain stay and visit Jenolan Caves
    3. The Entrance/Terrigal
    4. Wollongong/Newcastle
    5. Stay 5 stars wotif mystery hotel in city, Groupon deal on Vivid cruise at night and dinner at Darlingharbour.
    6. Two day tasting cruises in RC. Quiet time at the stern or sky chapel.
    7. Stay in one of the beach front hotels eg Coogee Manly and order a cocktail "Sex on the beach".
    8. Deluxe Camping eg Taroonga Zoo, Cuckatoo Island…
  • It is hard because I don't know where you are coming from but if you only have a short time I would head for the Blue Moundains. There are some great walks around there and it will let you relax rather than bustling through the city with not much time.

  • Check out air bnb - might find something surprising.

As a Sydneysider, I'm going with all the above comments and say go to Melbourne.

    • As a Sydneysider and a Melbournian, I say go to the Gold Coast.

  • The wife and I enjoy staying here: http://www.eagleview.com.au/

Up in the blue mountains, amazing views, rooms are excellent and run by a lovely couple who provide a range or services and food packages etc. Price isnt crazy either.

Whilst you are up their you can check out the jenolan caves, go for a drive around the Bathurst track and plenty of other nice romantic things

  • Anyone know where I can get cheap flight tickets to melbourne (from sydney) this weekend? depart: 18 March afternoon to return 20 March evening

  • 500 - 800 can get so far to Melbourne, Brisbane or Gold coast
