Hi all,

So Zavvi has a sale on box sets - good prices plus an extra 10% off. Some examples I came across (before the discount):

  The UK release of the first Avengers movie is censored(The Aussie and US versions aren't), so if that matters to you stay well away.

  Bloody spewing the matrix trilogy is sold out still don't own it on Bluray, I haven't watched it on Bluray either =(.

    Get it from Amazon UK. I think it works out cheaper anyway (after VAT is removed and including delivery).

      Of if you want the Animatrix included as well Amazon USA have this: http://www.amazon.com/Film-Favorites-Matrix-Collection-Blu-r…
      Little bit more expensive, but it's region free and is currently the only convenient way to get the Animatrix on Blu-Ray.

      Cheers mate I grabbed robo and predator trilogies on bluray as well as the pirates quadrilogy for roughly $43 can't argue with those prices will check amazon uk now!Sadly I can't get the matrix boxset from the states it doesn't ship to Sydney, you can actually get it from amazon uk but it works out to be around $45 might pass on it for now.

  Why did Hollywood have to invent the word quadrilogy? The word tetralogy already existed and comes after trilogy…

    because most people are stupid and wouldn't realise that a tetrlogy has four parts.. they probably don't realise that is what influenced Tetris' name - as each block is made of four smaller blocks.

    also be aware that this current Zavvi sale isn't great.. I bough some box-sets over the past couple of months and they were CHEAPER when I bought them, than they are now in this special sale.

    Quad is Latin for 4 so in actuality the word isn't really wrong, its just a word
    Tri is greek and Latin for 3
    Duo is Latin for 2

    If you really want to nitpick though four movies aren't a tetralogy any more than 2 are a duology.

    If the scheme English language chose for film and books was latin (based of Duology) then Quadrilogy is correct and Tetralogy is wrong

      Quadrilogy, Quintilogy are nonstandard.
      Tetralogy, Pentalogy are correct.

      Trilogy is from Greek meaning three stories.
      Tri-, Tetra-, Penta- are the Greek numeral prefixes that should be used.

        you've ignored the common occurrence of duology in book and film releases
        Not suggesting anyone is right or wrong

        But Duology Trilogy being Latin naturally continue with the latin quadrilogy

        Greek is Dio
        Latin Duo

        Greek is Tri
        but also
        Latin is Tri

        Since Duology and Trilogy are in common use (latin based) Quadrilogy is the natural continuation (latin based).

        It is unnatural to flow from Latin Duology to a Greek Tetralogy

        Duology is a modern hybrid word. i.e. mixes Latin prefix with Greek. You could say that its creation broke the flow.
        Trilogy is a much older word and is based completely on Greek.
        You should note that I said Quadrilogy is nonstandard, not wrong.
