Horses for courses, and different people have different tastes. Some are happy with a $8 KMart special for their dayjob, others choose $120 shirts. It's all down to personal preference and needs and wants.
I thought $40 was on the lower end of the spectrum. Also some body types are so unique certain cheaper brands don't cater for them them. These brands often don't offer sleeve length customisation so if you don't fit the standard sizes, you can't wear them at all.
How do they compare to Brooks Brothers?
My husband is a very fussy dresser and these are the only shirts he will wear. The twill fabric is thicker so better for winter.

I don't know what that is but he usually gets everything tailored and wears these shirts as he likes their style/cut
Fabric isn't as soft but is decent enough to wear day to day. Irons a bit better than BB. Good shirt if you find BB shirt baggy as I do as it caters American body shapes more. Big plus for super fitted shirts if that's your body type.

do you have any recommendations for people with square shoulders?
i just went and tried on their slim & fitted - everything ok but my shoulders are flat so the back of my neck creases pretty bad. im fairly slim so everything looks good but the part behind the neck.
tempted to get tailored shirts but being an ozbargainer hard to stomach the cost :(

Similar quality of you like CT you will like TM. If extra slim fit is too baggy with CT then super fitted would be ideal with TM

Unfortunately, when I limit the search to super fitted there aren't many options (only 5, and no non-iron options) in my size.

I spoke to a guy at the Collins st store the other day and he said he would give me one shirt at that price to see if I liked them. OR he said I could come in and try one on to get the size right for online. Very helpful.
Yep - I've always had a good experience with their sales staff, they also seem to know a lot about the material/fitting better than most sales assistants.
