Has Anyone Had an Issue with Their Buro Metro I Backrest?

I am having an issue with my Buro Metro I purchased in January. The backrest does not stay in place after being adjusted, it drops back down to the lowest position. I have tried looking for a hex bolt to tighten it but can not see anything.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to fix it or did you have to exchange your chair?

  • The backrest cannot stay at the highest possible position as this is the "release" position. The height adjust mechanism works like a salmon ladder with a ratchet, you have to pull the backrest up and let it drop slightly until it clicks. If you pull it all the way up, it will then allow you to lower the backrest all the way down to the lowest position. From memory there were 4 positions where it could click and lock into place.

  • I had this issue when I got mine, but what you have to do is adjust is slowly and carefully instead of quickly. Then it should sit in one of the ratchets.

  • Thanks, this did the trick! I guess I just underestimate my own brute strength sometimes.
