Dick Smith brand to be resurrected by Ruslan Kogan

Just when you thought the eneloop bargains were gone for good…

Like a cat with nine lives, the Dick Smith brand is set to live again – this time as an online-only consumer electronics retailer owned by e-commerce pioneer Ruslan Kogan.

Some mods have very low tolerance on jokes.

He should not have announced that. Should of stayed anonymous. Jb and Harvey pressure suppliers not to supply to Kogan. Now they will know it's just another website run by Kogan and the same thing may happen. Just like Bunnings putting pressure on suppliers not to supply to masters.

  • I was thinking about DSE's current fire sale of physical store stock and Kogan buying out the online division. I think it's likely all the good stock will now be transferred to online while everything else is pushed through the retail stores. Why would you sell a good product 50% off when it can be sold online at full price?

  • Never bought anything off kogan.
Nothing interesting posted on ozbargain from kogan.

  • I wonder if Kogan used all those gift vouchers they traded to pay for the purchase?

    • unsecured creditor. If he was to pay himself, he would be last in line

  • I really do wonder of the actual "value" of the brand and whether it's not just worth creating a new brand and doing some massive sales.
