Cheapest Way of Transferring Money to Sweden

Hi,

I am lodging an application to the Swedish Migration Board which incurs an application fee of 475 SEK.
The only acceptable payment method is telegraphic transfer to BIC/SWIFT: DABASESX (Danske Bank, Stockholm).

N.B. I have Citibank Plus, CUA, BOQ and Tranzfers accounts.

I would appreciate any advice regarding the cheapest way to make this payment.

Thank you.

Use your Citibank Plus account. So cheap it's free.

    • I think it may be routed through an intermediary bank and if it does, Citibank will pass that on to me.

      • Citibank international transfers are totally free, regardless of how your money reaches its destination.

        • This is Citibank's customer service reply to my email regarding TT fees:

"For your reference, when requesting a Telegraphic Transfer, your funds
might be sent via an intermediary bank before reaching its destination.
This will only happen if Citibank is unable to send your funds directly
to the beneficiary bank. Intermediary banks may charge you for sending
your funds onto the beneficiary. Intermediary bank fees will be
deducted from the transfer amount before sending on.

Furthermore to your enquiry, Citibank has no control over other
financial institutions, their fees and charges or any government
legislation or controls that may create costs for your transaction or
those financial institutions or regulate the way in which they operate."

          @fourleanhounds:

When you make an international funds transfer via Citibank, you'll be given the option to deal with Bank fees in one of three ways:

          • Charge wholly to recipient
          • Split fees between sender and recipient
          • Charge wholly to sender

If you choose the option that most matches the last option above, 100% of your transferred funds will reach the recipient. That's from personal experience.
