Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - is Australian stock Snapdragon or Exynos?

Hello,

Cant seem to find an answer for this anywhere.
But does anyone know which CPU we are receiving in Australian retailers?

I'm really looking forward to buying this phone in the next week or so,
but after doing much research, a 33%~ boost in GPU when getting the snapdragon processor seems like a pretty big difference.

Anyone have any luck getting the price down at JB Or harveys?
The guy at JB said the lowest he could go was $1221, but im sure other people have been able to haggle the price down more…

      What?
Exynos 8890 in both the s7 and s7 edge. You're posting an article full of errors. Probably because it was written up on the day pre-orders opened up.

  • Where can i buy the snapdragon 820 s7 edge?
none of the ebay sellers are listing the model number.

    • Because they don't sell the US version.
      Buy it from the US.

The first post is misinformed. I honestly don't know why you want a phone from the US with only a minor difference and you sacrifice all the benefits of buying an s7 locally. 33% boost in GPU sounds a bit far-fetched and not what I am seeing.

    Both Australian models are Exynos.

Mine says Octa Core on the back of the box (s7).. The Snapdragon is a quad core unit.

Most reviews are saying the Exynos is the version to get anyway. I wouldn't worry about the GPU difference as the Exynos is still going to have a very good GPU.

  • Hmm yea now there are pros and cons for both cpu units.
Id prefer faster web-browsing over a more power gpu….

Now the only problem is finding the phone for less than $1200

    • Just buy the G7 Edge and forget about those silly numbers. The s7 Edge is still the best phone on the planet regardless of what CPU it has.

  • Buy it from kogan, it is around ~920$AU Delivered. It is grey import though, but i think 300$ difference is not worth for local stock

  • would the snapdragon have better rom support?

    • Probably. It's more than likely that Snapdragon 820 would be used for Nexus along with other devices. Exynos is not exactly known for being developer friendly either. Last year, many manufacturers deviated from Snapdragon 810, this year it seems that they'd not do so with the 820 (at the very least, not as much).
