iPhone 6S or Samsung Galaxy S7

So am looking for either one of those phones and undecided as both are entirely different. What's everyone experience out there and especially those who made the switch from one to another.

Plan or outright.. Different story.

  • iphone 6c or Samsung S7

Since there is currently no such thing as the "iPhone 6c", it would be really interesting if anyone could share their experiences with switching to it ;-)

    • Hahaha I didn't even realise I put c! Unbelievable. Oh well. I meant the s.

      • Ok, fair enough - I thought you knew something we didn't - hahaha :p

  • Wow, all you are going to do is start another thread war.

    Why didn't you just Google.

Didn't even know I can do that! Thanks ;) Looking for interactive real user experience, than just read reviews or old threads where it may be irrelevant among other threads I'm not interested in.

  • iPhone 6c ? Haha :)

  • There's a lot of old threads like this and it's all basically the same. The OS is the main difference, and if there is something specific you need, go for that phone.

Why are you comparing the best smartphone in the world with APple's budget smartphone that hasn't come out yet?

It's pretty obvious that you're just being silly.

    1. Choose OS (ios, android or windows 10 mobile)
    2. How much cash do you have?
    3. Do your own research and buy!

I have an S7 edge. I cherished it for a week and I absolutely believe it's the best smartphone ever made, but it has just become another phone to me. I don't even take care of it. xD

  • Which OS are you more comfortable with (or one that you used beforehand)? Go with that one unless you felt like the OS you've used was so bad that you want to change or unless you have a good reason to change OS. It takes a bit of an effort to get used to an OS, regardless of what OS it is.

  • S7 edge is the best overall smartphone right now

You can't put a case on it :P

      • Why? There lots of cases for S6 edge, I'm sure there will lots for s7 edge as well. You could get s7 edge from kogan for ~920$AU currently, which I think is a great deal.

      • Yes you can. I'm using one now with a case. Otterbox commuter!

  • Warranty wise, get iphone 6s. Feature wise, get s7.

Go to a carrier store and play with both.

I prefer iOS in general. I have used android although not for a while. I just prefer the general feel and layout of iOS but there are somethings that annoy the crap out of me like the restrictiveness of apps on iOS.

    Both have positives and negatives.

What phone do you have now?

    • Lumia 532

  • iPhone 6S is mid cycle, iPhone 7 will be released in September (brand new design). However i am an Apple guy, the new s7 is jam packed with features and feels great in the hand. For the money, i would say get the s7 because it's an overall better phone (screen, battery life, iP68). However you will be paying a bucket load for either phone, at least 1K.

  • Clearly you need to bite the bullet and just get both. Once you've spent some time with both of them, then you'll have your answer

Don't see a point in paying premium money amounts for what is decidedly not a premium product because of Android.

  • I've owned Iphones since the first one was released up until the 5s. As of 2 weeks ago if you asked me which phone I would have said iPhone any day till death. That all changed when the s7 Edge came out. Wow, what a difference. I used to think jailbreaking iOS was freedom. Boy was I wrong. I can do Everything and MORE on the s7 Edge and I haven't even rooted/jailbroken yet. Seriosuly make the switch, it feels good to be free.

    • Just curious, what is "everything" and "MORE"?

        Not using itunes lol

      • Well coming from jailbroken iphones, which was a neccisity do take control over the restrictions apple has placed on their firmware. To list every single thing would take me a long time. But for starters android developers have a lot more freedom and flexibility when writing applications that Apple simply doesn't provide. Most apps and tweaks that you can only find on Cydia are readily available on the Google Playstore. So far I do not require a root on my S7 Edge, however I could not use an IPhone without a jailbreak, to me that says a lot epically when jailbreaking is becoming just the more difficult every time.

    • Yes! I had this exact same moment a couple of years ago. As much as I love the iPhone, it was just too restrictive.

    • What can you do on it that you can't on iOS?

  • Wait until Tuesday to see what Apple releases

    • Well thats a disappointment. Nothing cutting edge that makes me want the new iPhones.

  • Plan or outright for Samsung S7?

    • I'm thinking of going plan. While having no lock in commitment is better and more control over plan, the initial outlay for the phone is a lot.

      • True… I was contemplating buying outright and then going on prepaid plan, but oddly going on contract turns out cheaper

  • S7 Edge, you won't regret it. The free Gear VR you get with it makes it even more desirable. The phone itself is a beast as well.
