Multiple Accounts with The Same Bank

Is there a bank where I can open multiple accounts via online with the ability to rename the accounts? Essentially if such an option exists I would like to use this as a means of goals saving.

Thanks all!

  • All banks should have some form of Netbank saver account, where it's only accessible online (ie not on your card), and doesn't have monthly charges. Don't expect amazing interest rates or anything, but it's handy to diversify money, especially if you're organising savings

Commonwealth I know has it, but I believe all the majors do.

Note that it requires a normal savings account linked to it

  • Commonwealth Bank support it, but not free :)

    • Yes it is, for Netbank saver accounts

As in, original savings account has it's own fees, but the linked Netbank Saver accounts (you can have plenty!) don't have fees

Most financial institutions have this facility.

  • Open up a gold saver from CBA which have higher interest rate than netbank saver if you are increase the saving amount by $200 each month

  • Most will have an option to do this. If you do it with a bank you already use, you will be able to skip the 100 point ID check.

    ING direct

    • I second ING, I have about 5 savings accounts ( normal savings, large bills, kids, extra pay, shares etc)
All are free and very easy to set up automatic saving plans.

      • they will only pay bonus interest into just one of these savings accounts, this has been the case for around 1 year. I used to diversify savings but not anymore when they changed their conditions. I even called up to see if they could do an exception but no luck. It seems like such a small thing, but it really annoys me to need to choose between the financially savvy move (put all in the bonus account) and the psychologically correct move (separation of monies).

        • My other accounts have small amounts, but I keep them separated because they are for different things.
I also do this to not touch my main savings.
