  • Thank you :)

  • Does this work for spare parts too?

  • Thanks. No tools available for the plain v6

    • +1

Code seems to work on the Handheld Tool Kit. Grabbed one when I bought a V6 a couple of weeks ago to substitute for the included combination tool (can't stand them).

      • Thanks, I made the mistake of entering serial number rather than just browsing…

  • Does anyone know if i can buy the hepa filter part and install it on to a plain v6? As far as i can see the only difference between the plain v6 and the absolute are the heads and the hepa filter.

    • If it's attached to the back where the "MAX" button is, I would be very surprised.

    • No you cant install it on the V6 HS, the Absolute is the only one with the back design for that extra filter.

  • +4

Seems to be free shipping too!!!

  • Does anyone know if this handy looking attachment will work with the V6?

    http://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories/reach-under-tool-966600…

    • doesn't come up when searching via model compatible accessories http://www.dyson.com/store/vacuum-cleaners/accessories.aspx

      • thanks… looks like it may fit but not sure. Rang dyson customer care but they are closed for easter. :/

        • Hey I rang and asked them about it a while ago, it does work with V6!

        • @nightfever: !! Thanks, will get one.

And out of curiosity, which number did you call?? I rang 1800 239 766

        • @highon2str: can't remember it was a while ago, some time last year. Whatever the support number on their official site. I ended up getting myself the crevice tool instead of the reach under. Just then bought the handheld tool kits.

If you put in the model as v6 in the accessories section. Reach under tool also comes up as one of the available accessories - http://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories?prefix=

    • It can fit but you dont have the flexibility of movements as you would with a corded vacuum.

      • Can it fit with handheld tool kit extendable hose? Thanks

        • +1

Do you mean the flexible one? Yes but remember you do need to hold the trigger to use it so you might make it awkward extending the length further more.

        • @cortex21: can you elaborate on this please, how is it different using this product with a cordless V6?

        • +1

@highon2str: On its own attached to the metallic wand, the reach under tool is fine working with a V6 but if you want to use the extendable hose as well that @Gobryn is asking about unless you take off the metallic wand, it's too long to control as well as hold the trigger down.

Otherwise, it is fine replacing the metallic wand with the flexible hose and then attaching the reach under tool.

    • @cortex21 Does anyone know if this attachment will work with the V6 absolute?
      http://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories/car-cleaning-kit-908909…

      • -1

great its out of stock. classic.

      • Sorry I couldn't reply on time but yes they would work on the v6 Absolute, only thing with the tangle free tool is that although it fits, it won't spin as fast as it needs to on the V6 compared to on a corded vacuum.

        • no stock?
          can you add more please?

        • +1

@IsTops: I have no control of that, unfortunately, my sincere apologises.

  • Damn wanted the charger for my dc58 but can't see it :(

For those looking for a Turbine Head for their Dyson, add this one to the cart: http://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/turbine-head-912969-02 Even though it is technically falls under 'spare parts' the accessory code works for it! The code doesn't seem to work for the other links for the same turbine head.

    • Excellent find.

    • Reminder, it's designed for carpets so not ideal for more delicate hard floors.

      • Thanks rep, is it ok for tiled floors? Also, can you confirm that it will fit the DC29, the website doesn't seem to say specifically.

        • +1

Oh yes Tiled floors is fine as they can handle pretty much anything.

As for fitting on a DC29, I will have to get back to you as confirmation, I don't think it is so as DC29 was different to the rest and had its own particular motorhead I believe and if you are wanting the head to be replaced, you can only ask for a replacement for that same head that it came with the DC29.

        • @cortex21: will it fit a v6?

        • @cortex21: basically we wanted a turbine head that would fit the DC29. My wife had called Dyson previously asking if there was a turbine head that would fit our vacuum cleaner model and they said that this one would do the trick, I have my doubts which is why I asked.

        • @lowKey: No this turbine head will not fit in the V6.

        • +1

@Lizard Spock: Just double checked and yes it will fit DC29, I was thinking of the wrong model earlier.

      • Rep, does this turbine head fit the DC54 allergy model? I assume it does, but I cant find confirmation anywhere. Thanks in advance

        • It can fit, but why is your head broken or not picking up on carpet?

        • @cortex21: I thought that this would be better than the supplied one - or Is that not the case?

        • @elvino: The turbine head you are wanting to purchase is designed for carpets only, it is technically the previous generation or two design of what the DC54 allergy head has now. From my experience of use and testing, the Dc54 has a better head and pick up performance and the turbine head is only recommended to be purchased if your vacuum did not come with a turbine head.

    • I got all excited about this as the cleaner head on my DC24 has gone. Then I realised it's almost 30% more than the original part, might as well get the spare part without the promo code… Unless this is newer/better?

      • +1

Depends on how comfortable you are with it as you would have to use the hose constantly.

  • Thanks very much OP

  • Any thoughts on how to get a wand for a dc31? Do I need to put a serial code in for the V6?

    • You can't, if a product did not originally came with a wand, you can't buy it outright.

    • I bought a wand/extension pole for my dc58 on eBay (from UK). Different unit, i know, but that might be a possibile avenue

  • -6

not working - it says invalid

    • Are you sure you haven't selected a spare part?

    • It works, you need to select from accessories category.

  • Thank OP, just bought the Handheld tool kit saved $29.7 with free shipping! Woot!!

  • My charger died recently. Only see the car kit on website.

    • That would be under as a replacement part unfortunately and would not qualify for this discount.

  • +1

All I want is a holder for the accessories.

  • So is is only the items on this page then? http://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories

  • Not valid for Wall mounting bracket? Or should I not be browsing via mobile?

    • What model is it for? If it originally came with one, it would be considered as a replacement part then.

      • Mine is a DC58 h/held. I figured it would be considered an accessory for sale purposes.

        • As it didn't come with one, it should be considered as an accessory, give them a call to confirm. It might just be missing from the website.

  • What addon would you guys recommend for v6 to pick up long hair?

    • +5

      The missus.

    • +2

in the name of equal rights it should be what TOOL and the answer is the Husband?;)

    • The turbine head which comes in the box with the V6 animal and upwards but can be bought separately by phoning customer services up.

  • Does anyone know which battery is for my dc34 or dc35…?

    • Type the serial number in, so it gives you results based on that model.

      • It was bought via amazon it, so it cannot find anything based on the serial number of the machine. However, the battery model is 17083-2212. Would you know what the compatible batteries are available from the store?

        • The serial number can be found behind the filter. Open up the filter area and remove the filter and it should be behind that.
I do no unfortunately that is more on the technical support side of things, but use the serial number and contact customer services when they open up again and they can tell you exactly what battery model you need and how much it will be.

        • +1

          @cortex21: Thanks !
I did manage to find the matching code which is 917083-07. However it does not look like I can buy it online http://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/battery-917083-07 . Is there a reason for this?

        • @crazyeyes: same issue. Need DC35 battery.

        • @crazyeyes: Not sure of the reason but call customer service if they are open, they can give you a definite answer.

  • hey guys not exactly deal related but help would be appreciated…
I bought the below unit from the US and pretty much blew the engine as soon as i plugged it into a 240v socket..

Dyson DC39 Ball Multifloor Pro Canister Vacuum

Firstly i'm amazed that an international brand like this wouldn't have a fuse or something that would blow before the motor itself went.. but moving past that, any idea where/how i can get a replacement motor??

    • last time, I got one from a supplier in the UK for about $80 AUD shipped

Aftermarket part, used for five plus years … .

    • Unsure of the cost of replacement, but you just have to call customer services and find out how much it would cost to replace. Just state your serial number and they will be very helpful once they have that number.

  • Still can't buy the fluffy motorhead separately..

    • The way Dyson runs, I don't think you will ever could, only just as a replacement head.

  • Does anyone know if the wand for V6 is covered by this deal, if so, what's the link?

    • Unfortunately no it is not as the wand would be classified as a replacement part.

  • Thanks OP. Have had a broken Turbine Head for over a year (after much use). Good time to get a new one.

  • +1

    No car tools 😢

How can they run out? They make them, right?

    • They do but it might be out of stock

  • Code not valid for crevice tool.

    • Which crevice tool are you looking at?

  • +1

@cortex21 Does this Turbine head http://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/turbine-head-912969-02 fit onto a DC37C, the only accessory that shows up under that model is the car cleaning kit.

    Thanks.

    • +1

It does fit the dc37c, the website is not the greatest to show which accessories go onto what but yes the turbine fits in the DC37c.

  • +1

@cortex21, is Mattress tool the same tool as Wide nozzle tool? And would they work with DC45 ?

    Thanks

    • From web search it seems both are identical. Also, thanks for asking the question - I ordered the mattress tool not realising that the wide nozzle tool is actually the same thing!! Will call to cancel that order on Tuesday.

  • Damn, I just purchased a attachment last week.

  • @cortex21: Can up top tool be used for V6 cordless model?

    Thanks

  • @cortex21 Can the Carbon Fibre Soft Dusting Brush be used on the V6 Absolute? For some reason the newer Carbon Fibre one is listed as only suitable for corded vacuums but the older one with the nylon bristles says it works on any Dyson (corded or cordless). Seems strange!

Note: I found the US Dyson Site has more details about compatibility - eg http://www.dyson.com/vacuum-cleaners/accessories/home-cleani… for the Carbon Fibre brush and http://www.dyson.com/vacuum-cleaners/accessories/home-cleani… for the older Nylon one.

    • Maybe both of the brushes ship with the adapter to go to the straight tube style connection of the older Dyson's? My 7 year old "high and low" kit came with such an adapter. Amazon show the adapter too in a hard floor tool item.

I won't know until I receive my Carbon Fibre one in a couple of weeks time if it does or not.
