Samsung Galaxy S7 DUAL Sim - Any experience with these websites?

Hey there,

My bro is looking to buy a Samsung S7 Galaxy Dual Sim Phone. Had a look on line and these websites are offering it for the cheapest price. Just wondering if anyone can vouch, or warn against, these websites? Or feel free to recommend a better website. Phone will of course be an OS model since we don't do Dual Sim phones here.

  • Grey import. Probably missing a couple of 4g bands. Don't buy.

perhaps you could try Kogan or just get it on a plan

    • they're all going to be grey imports, even from kogan? They don't make Australian Dual Sim phones as far as i know.

The difference is Kogan is a 'trusted' Australian store.

  • bump. any feedback on those sites?!

I'm aware of Kogan but it's a few hundred more than the rest. He was actually looking for the Edge.

    thanks.

The 2nd sim qill be default 2g and 2g network in Australia will be closing down later this year for telstra and next year in april for optus.

So will render it almost useless for second sim.

    • woah?!! really?! i was literally just about to buy it for him and i just saw this! thank you for your reply!!

Because I have no idea about this stuff, just to confirm, there's no way the 2nd SIM can also be on 3G? I'm looking at the specs and doesn't really indicate that Sim 2 is limited?

      NETWORK Technology
      GSM / HSPA / LTE
      2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2 (dual-SIM model only)
      3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
      4G bands LTE

The first sim would be 2g,3g,lte the second will only be 2g.

There are no 2 sim mobiles that work on both 3g 4g on both sims so yeh as you have noted look at sim 1 and 2.

thanks so much for your help! just looked into it and you saved my brother one expensive pointless purchase.

    • Never both concurrently no, user may toggle which LTE is run [in DSDS], but otherwise VoIP/call forward any incoming lines. (Samsung's DS00=BS)

  • When it comes to dual SIM: there is dual SIM, dual SIM Standby, and dual SIM Active. Afaik the middle one is considered current the first and last represent obsolete / unreleased. (2G v 4G/4G simplex v 2x 3/4G trancievers tba)

You can find 4G/4G below 200. eg XM note 2 ..
    +telco(s) will loathe you.
