Help! Getting poor signal on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 N920C

I just bought Galaxy Note 5 N920C, I know that its not Australian Version so its missing some of the LTE bands. I don't mind using 3G, as I never download big files on my phone. The problem is the signal that I got is really poor compare to my other phones(Lumia 530 & Nexus 5). I never get 4g(I already prepared for this), and my 3g signal is always below 15%. Sometimes it even lost its signal. I checked that the phone should have all the 3g bands, I wonder what's wrong? The poor signal also make my phone warm at all time, even at standby mode.

Is there any setting that I can do to setup the 3g band? Is there any way that I could set the phone to listen to Australian bands only?

Please help me fellow Ozbargainers. I just unboxed my phone and now I really regret to buy this phone.

  • Try a firmware update. The latest version is Android 6.0.1. Run the Samsung updater and see if any software updates are available.

    • Thanks, just started downloading the firmware update. I'll see how it goes.

      • So… how did it go?

        • Nothings changed. I just changed to vodafone and all works perfectly now.

Ah cool. Thanks for the update!

  • Buying from and how much?

  • In my experience Samsung phones have always had slightly worse signal strength (Although I'm not sure if that's still the case with the N5), unfortunately you do have to live with that.
