Samsung Galaxy S7 for Use in Australia and USA

I need some advice on what Samsung Galaxy S7 (and Edge) that will work in both Australian and USA mobile networks.

I don't care so much about the CPU being Snapdragon or Exynos I just need it to work in both countries.

Is the SM-G930F / SM-G935F what I should go for (so called "Global" models) like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/241323? A comment says "Be aware this version have different network bands. Missing band 28 for example…". How does a so-called "Global" model have missing bands?

What about SM-G930FD / SM-G935FD Dual SIM models?

Or the standard SM-G930 / SM-G935 models sold in Australia?

I read comments like "Grey import. Probably missing a couple of 4g bands. Don't buy.". It's all just a pile of confusing horse shit trying to figure it out.

  • Go the www.willmyphonework.net and put all models in and see what networks they work with. I went with the dual sim G935FD (taiwan model) it has all the bands for Telstra in Australia and I got one for $900

      thanks for the link!

  • I have the SM-G930FD. 4G works fine for me in Sydney. Not tested any where else.

However my one question is in the phones About Device settings - its says United Arab Emirates.
Can this be changed to Australia, because when I open Samsung pay, the app says "Currently available in the UAE only" :(

Edit: Looks like I need to update the firmware to XSA: https://samsung-firmware.org/download/Galaxy%20S7%20edge/5l9…
