Flower Delivery Additional Charge at PayPal

I ordered flowers last week online for a funeral to be sent to brisbane. On the company website at checkout it said the charge would be $45 from there I clicked to paypal and the price jumped to $57 with no disclaimers or reasons why the charge jumped. I was in a rush and just wanted to get the flowers sent so I paid for it. Went back to the company and complained and they have sent me screenshots saying it tells you the charge will go up. I went back on the site and went through the process again and it doesn't show you anywhere a disclaimer to say price will go up at paypal checkout. Should I be pushing them harder for a refund of the difference? I'm thinking of sending them my own screenshots.

How much of your time is worth $12 OP?

The way i see it. The best way to punish them is to take your business elsewhere for when there is a next time you need flowers sent.

Sure leave a comment in their facebook page if they have one.

You can still argue the point with them on that basis, or otherwise, if you want to. It is an outrageous surcharge for PayPal on such a small purchase amount.

"I was in a rush and just wanted to get the flowers sent so I paid for it"

    Then don't complain.

  • most likely fees and overheads for the business and the flower selling industry is cut throat with very little margins for the smaller guys given paypal takes a fair chunk of your money for a purchase maybe they're covering that loss by charging more at checkout

really poor practice but i would ask them about it first to find out why

posting here isnt going to answer it for you
