  • Is this cheaper than the last time? Might still have the ram unopened.

  • Seems a good deal, is it worthwhile buying RAM from overseas? I hear RAM often can have issues, is it worth the risk? What are returns like for items that are purchased from Amazon. Thanks!

Cheap no name brand RAM often have issues, trusted name brand RAM can have issues, but it is far from common to have issues with a good RAM brand.

      • Really? I have had zero issues with any RAM ever.

Well, provided I didn't overclock the computer it was in.

ram stability doesn't really have anything to do with an OC or not, if its faulty then it is faulty.

Good to see ram prices dropping down, finally, this is around what a similar product cost in 2012.

  • Kingston DDR4 2133 SODIMM laptop ram has been drastically reduced too

  • Seen any good deals for 4gb dimms? Either 2x4gb or 4x4gb

    • Why would you want 4GB dimms over 8GB?

      • I think some intel MB chipsets can run their RAM dual channel across banks as well making it like quad pumped. So if you want 16gb in that scenario.

        • Unless you are using integrated graphics, it would barely make a difference (less than 1%) between single channel vs dual channel, let alone quad channel. I would rather go 32GB of cheap RAM anyway.

  • How does this compare to
    Kingston HyperX Impact 16GB DDR4 2133 CL13 HX421S13IBK2/16 from Amazon?
Planning to build non-game system with SSD 240g
    + GA-H170-D3HP (Z?) $199 or similar with usb-C 3.1
    skylake i5-6500 $226 (i7-6700 $326~ performance 4money
Most demanding apps would be complex Excel or Python (memory intensive, maybe +16g later, of graphics card when ready for video editing)

If you are going Skylake, then you need DDR4, not DDR3, so not a comparison

  • If you bought the 6700K CPU from Kogan… go with something like this… http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-PC4-24000-Me…

  • I ended up buying this.

Part of me wanted the 16GB. My system is only a G3258 with a cheap h81 (only two dimm slots) board @ 3.8 Ghz. I dont game, i just end up going over and paging memory every once and a while with my 4gb at the moment due to too many browser windows and slowing up my media server in the process, when 8gb becomes a problem I'll need a whole new PC I suspect. I can't imagine my dual core chip running VR… For $49 im happy.
