4G speed from Telstra MVNO's?

This afternoon I noticed my phone displaying a 4G on the signal strength icon. Haven't seen that since moving from Telstra to Aldi Mobile last year. Google showed me this but the article is a year old so lots of things could've changed.

Anyone else on Aldi or TeleChoice noticing a 4G connection?

  • Hey Darron65 - I'm with Telechoice (Grandfathered KM $20 Plan) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140686 and I'm still getting 3G. Hopefully being rolled out soon, but surely TC and Aldi would pre-Advertise this if it were true.

  • Others on Aldi are also getting 4G.

    • Okay, so it's not my handset malfunctioning then. Thanks for that.

4G is an unexpected bonus. If my wife and I cared about 4G we would've gone with Boost. The best reason we're on Aldi is the free Aldi-Aldi calls; she's chatty and uses the XL plan while I'm quite happy on the S plan. I think switching to Boost would've cost us another $10 monthly. Now there is no reason at all.

  • There was a press release that 4G is due in June, I think.
When I switched Telechoice plans a couple of months ago they sent a new SIM that will offer 4G support in future.
