Xiaomi Mi4c from AliExpress for US $165.99

Original Xiaomi Mi4c mi 4c 4G FDD LTE Cell Phone Android 5.1 Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core 5'' 1920x1080 13MP Camera 2GB RAM 16GB ROM (Grey Model)

What's your thoughts, this seems like a really good deal but is it worth the risk dealing with Aliexpress and possibly waiting a month or more for it to arrive?

  • I've bought a little more than 70 things from aliexpress and had no problems. Delivery is often slow, but sometimes surprises me. I also bought a Mi2s Xiaomi.

  • +1

The seller has 150,000+ transactions and 97.9% pos feedback. The phone has 237 reviews/feedback with this seller. most state everything is good/great. main negative issues are with tracking, postage time and import/customs duties.

    So the seller seems legit.

Buying from Aliexpress? - I've made over 300 transactions with them and have no hesitation in recommending it. just always make sure the seller + goods are legit - i.e. always check feedback.

unless it is an elcheapo item and new seller then I take the "risk" (which is not really a risk as alipay protection has always worked in my favour.

    AU$223 for a decent phone.

you will be waiting a month.

don't forget to get their US$2 off coupon as well.

Edit - cheaper at US $156.98 with this seller

  • IMO your main risk here is malware coming preinstalled. Apparently it's fairly common. It's best if you first check that a clean official ROM is available, and then flash the phone as soon as you get it.

e.g. maybe this one http://en.miui.com/download-293.html (seems to be Chinese version so YMMV)

  • No SD card support on this model?

    • Yes 16gb and no micro sd card support is a bit of a deal breaker. :(

      • only 3 network bands supported. B1/B3/B7

I would prefer a Nexus 5x H791 tbh, if you're only looking for a mid-spec phone and were Ok with the usual compromises of non-expandable storage and non removable battery.

I wasn't all that impressed with Xiaomi's MIUI design and customisation. (I bought a Xiaomi Note 2 but went back to my LG G2.)
