  • $5000 extra needs to be deposited by existing customers to get the bonus rate? That's a bit unfortunate. I have an AMP eASYSaver account with no money in it, but the bonus rate is just not attractive enough to move money from UBank's 5.95%.

  • Non of the popular online savings accounts have passed on the latest interest rate rise by the RBA on Feb 6 :(
    * Ubank
    * ING Direct
    * Bankwest
    * Raboplus
    * …

      UBank has even lowered its 6 month term deposit rate from 6.11% in March to 6.01% today. RaboPlus however has raised its 6 month rate to 6.31%. My TD is going to Rabo this time.

      • Don't you need to have a Raboplus Savings account to have the term deposit linked to?
        This would meam I would Have to open one up, transfer my term deposit to it, transfer that to the term deposit and then be paid back after 1 year to the raboplus account and then transfer that money back to my Ubank…seems like a lot of work..

    UBank have been pretty pathetic lately

    Their "rate assurance" has now stopped and the past few months have been slow on passing on rate increases watching and waiting for others to do so

    Their underlings were on this site spruiking for business when the first started up but now that UBank is dragging their feet they have gone MIA

    I'm almost tempted to take my $$$ out of UBank and take up this AMP offer seeing I have more than $150,000 and don't get a cent from UBanks ASP - edit see now that St George offer 6% too

    UBank is just another slimy bank now

    • Why not split up your funds in different UBank accounts to get the balance under $150,000 and get the ASP bonus.

      • Means I have to make 3 extra minimum monthly payments to get the ASP bonus on 3 different accounts

        • Not that hard? lol

          • @massari: putting in $300 a month extra just to get back $350 total extra interest for a whole year doesn't seem logical

            • @Bandit74: What I do is set up a direct deposit into Ubank of $100 on the 15th and then transfer it back on the 20th of each month.
              This way I still get the ASP bonus

  • Hi All

    This seems common now, I have seen the same rate today at commonwealth bank however I think it is for a 12 month period.

  • so which is the bargain this or the other one you posted
