What's The Best Cashback Website (That's Not CR!) ?

What do people recommend as the best cashback website that's not CR?

I'm getting tired of having to track whether they've tracked my purchase, then contacting them to trace the purchase, then waiting a lifetime for a response (perhaps the most obnoxious and annoying part)..and then not knowing if they're arbitrarily going to say it wasn't tracked (when der! my click history shows i clicked through like 1 minute before the purchase) I've chased about about $2000 in transactions in the last few months and have spent more time than i wish to trying to ensure i get my CBs.

TBH, in the end most my transactions have gone through, but it's the big transactions that concern me, since strangely (or intentionally), theyre the ones most likely not to be tracked. I'd rather just use another website where I know it will actually track and get paid than potentially miss out on a chunk of CBs.

So..what are the best alternatives that have a good history of tracking and paying out?

    If your question is "what's an alternative to Cashrewards?" then there's always PricePal who has been in the cashback business in Australia since 2006. However if your question is "what's an alternative to Cashrewards that tracks cashback better?" then unfortunately they are all about the same. In fact Cashrewards have continued to make their tracking better and actively involve with merchants and affiliate networks to improve tracking, and have representative presence here on OzBargain.

    Unfortunately a lot of lost tracking happened at the merchant & payment side, which the cashback sites can do very little about.

      C'mon @scotty seriously - you actually believe there's no connection between the fact that conversions "get lost in the system" and the fact that every "lost" conversion is money in the operators pocket?

      Every other affiliate sale related piece of software I've used doesn't "lose things in the system". Vendors such as eBay or whoever pay on time 7 to 30 days after the conversion occurs which means CR gets paid. If they didn't know exactly which sale relates to which customer then they couldn't do any cashback business at all now could they.

      So CR then has lovely conversion payouts - and who wants to lose more money at that point? Easier to er … "lose it in the system" as though computers are careless temp workers lel.

        you actually believe there's no connection between the fact …

        So you have solid evidence to support your claim? Do you work even in the cashback business? How many different affiliate networks have you worked with? What's your average number of transactions and dollars passing through your system? Have you actually received payments from eBay Partner Network into your bank account that's 7 days after the purchase?

        Anyway. At least conspiracy is FREE on the internet. Bargain!

          Have you actually received payments from eBay Partner Network into your bank account that's 7 days after the purchase?

          No, not from a partner network. From eBay themselves, actually. They could identify that I clicked through from CR then made the purchase, so it is rather strange how CR couldn't identify this.

        I've suggested the same and have been negged to infinity. Watch out.

        If you're after something that tracks every time, I can highly recommend flybuys eshops. Okay, they're not a cashback site and they might not cover all retailers, but at least I've never had a transaction go missing from them.

        Obviously that'll only work if you're into flybuys and all that, but if you're not I wouldn't have any recommendations to make just yet.

        • Kaptnkaos, tightarse has already responded to you previously, why were you silent after that?

          @lyl: I'm genuinely curious what happens next. It's like all guns blazing, a detailed reply, then the attack just stops.

          It should all be aired until the end, where the truth is obvious. To a bystander, it looks like that happened already.

          @lyl:

          Who said this had anything to do with my comms with TA? The OP wanted recommendations of cashback sites other than CR and I provided an alternative that has served me well. What's wrong with that?

        • +2

          @KaptnKaos:
          maybe you can give TA the courtesy of a detailed reply since he has done so to you as well. I bet you wont since you were just full of it

          @juventino:

          That'll be between me and TA.

          So Utopian was right. It's okay to admit wrong :)

      Thanks scotty, I'm aware of Pricepal but haven't used them yet so not sure about their tracking accuracy.

      My purpose here was to seek people's feedback and experiences about websites that track better.

        The difficult part is reading past peoples bias. It's obvious who has an issue with CR and who doesn't. Basically those who have an issue with it are very vocal every time it's mentioned. Those with no issues cbf commenting. You just have to read past the personal bullshit ;)

    Personally I don't see why you are so much after an alternative, CR gives free money back

    • +1

      ..so do other sites, which is why I was asking for an alternative

      CR don't always have the best % cashback rates. Shouldn't we all be seeking the best cashback and not just stick with one company?

      OP I've had a CR account for 3 years and PricePal account since they first started (as Moneybackco). I would say both have similar tracking, although if I have to pick a better of the two I would choose PricePal by a nose.

      When I've contacted either company about'missing' transactions my experience with customer service was better at PricePal where missing transactions generally get followed up and paid out.

      I have founder rates with PP so that makes them a clear winner most of the time for me in the cashback %'s but I can see their silver/gold rates are generally not as good as CR so if you don't have founder rates then maybe stick with CR. PP's buddy bonus makes up for the lower silver/gold cashback %'s but it's not as easy to get referrals anymore

        thanks for the feedback.

        yeh I'm a "gold member" with Pricepal (i dont even remember signing up with them). good to hear about PPs customer service. I think that's what I'm looking for since it's really CRs poor communication that annoys me the most. I shouldn't have to wait 1-2 weeks for a reply to an email.

        I used www.pink.org.au once for a $300 transaction. Was meant to get like $25 back which is why I used them. It didn't track and they basically replied with "it didn't track too bad". So it's good to know that PP has decent customer service

      • PricePal ran a free upgrade to Founder Level last year and I think they need to do that every now and then to keep "competitive".

        As of pink.org.au — that just rebranded Cashrewards though.

    I've not had any issue with Pricepal yet in regards to transactions not showing. It seems more reliable than CR from my experience, but apparently none are fail-safe.

    There's also Qwibble (who are great if you buy tickets to the Rsl art union draws, as they give Cashback on those ticket purchases), but again they can be hit and miss.

    • +1

      thanks for the feedback :)

      seems PP is worth a try

    • +1

      See recent discussion on Qwibble. We are not sure whether they are still in business…

      • Thanks mate, had no idea. Truth be told, haven't used them in some time (as I stopped buying tickets to the RSL Art Union draws a while back).

        Disappointing :/
