Has anyone used or tried the Bodyshops Skincare Range?

Hi,

I'm thinking of switching from Estee Lauder to the Bodyshop Skincare Range. Although, Estee Lauder works for me it very expensive. Having said that surely more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better? Or does it? I noticed on the website that the Bodyshop range also has good reviews.

What range from the Bodyshop do you use? Have you seen the results you wanted? I think the 'Essence of Youth' range has anti-ageing properties so I am thinking about trying products from this range. I am interested to know about the others as well.

Thanks for reading :).

You've been duped by marketing (along with millions of others) because no product of Estee Lauders or anyone else has anti-aging properties beyond cleaning and sun protection.

Both of these functions can be performed just as well with a $0.50 bar of soap and a $5.00 bottle of sunscreen. The magic is entirely made up in order to dupe customers.

What Estee Lauder and every other moisteriser will give you is a cosmetic layer of oil on top of the skin which causes a temporary improvement in appearance. Something baby oil or sunflower oil will achieve.

Although I have to admit I do buy Jurlique's moisterising range still but more because I like girls remembering my name when I go into the shop. One pump a day lasts a long time, as in over a year.

But don't make the mistake of believing the marketing because there is no magic.

Agree - the best money you can spend is on a good (light application) moisturiser with high SPF rating. Facials are good also if you go regularly. (Source: My partner switched from SKII and went mid-range with skincare and started facials).

No such thing as anti ageing, you can't fix your dna. But products can help preserve and protect your skin from further damage. You don't have to pay big money on products to achieve this, though I would not recommend using a bar of soap as it's too harsh.

If you have dry skin, I recommend the vitamin c home dermabrasion as a weekly exfoliator, works better than any other scrub I've tried. Look up bodyshop on makeupalley website for 100a of reviews.
