Getting Best Price on a SleepMaker Miracoil Mattress Ensemble

I was in Harvey Norman today and was quoted $1299 on a SleepMaker Miracoil Support Medium Queen Ensemble:

I was really happy with the mattress I'm trying to see if I can beat that price elsewhere. It seems that every retailer has slightly different versions of the Miracoil. ie DJ's has a Miracoil Piper medium and marlo medium on their website. They seem similar, but not sure if there are actually any substantial differences between these mattresses.

Any advice how to get the best price on this?

  • Crappiest Ever - cursing myself everyday for buying one

    • What's the problem with it?

      • I am 75kg and have a double mattress. I can feel the bed slats through the mattress. Keep tossing and turning and generally wake up with a stiff back.

  • The DJs Sleepmaker Marlo medium queen ensemble is currently on sale for $995 - if you use the 10% off DJ's gift cards you should pick this up for under $900 (RRP of $1895), including free metro delivery. The sale ends on the 17-Apr so you might need to move.

I know this cause I am looking at either this one or a Sealy Kindle Deluxe or the Sealy Posturepedic Aspire which are slightly more expensive. (around 900-1400 mattress only).

Also each mattress brand produces similar mattresses just with different fabric and has them as different models at each store, just so you cant price shop as the models arent all the same. You really have to go try some out to get a feel.

  • I just wrapped up purchasing a mattress recently - every retailer seems to sell the same mattresses from the major brands under a different name. I don't think there is actually much of a difference between them and I think they just do this so that you can't play the different retailers off of each other.

I ended up buying a Sealy Posturepedic from BedsOnline, after trying out different beds at HN and Forty Winks. They ended up being about 20% cheaper than the brick and mortar retailers (they give you a further discount if you call up and ask).
