  • Hallelujah! 30 McCain pizzas come at me!

          Oetker 4 lyf

    • Dr Oetker is on sale more often, so I'd say McCain but I haven't tried their pizzas in a while.

      • Dr Oetker been $3.75…has it been cheaper? (i hadnt tried frozen pizza for eons and read ppls comments on Dr Oetker (i was surprised to find they own the old Papa Guiseppe brand too — the one which used to come with herb packets years ago).. — tried it.. pretty good actually and i love my pizza)
Remember McCains used to be pretty nasty.. very sparse toppings and all dough base years back. any improvements?

    • McCain Pizza I tried from NQR was absolutely tastless

    • +1

      Dr Oetker by far.

    • Dr Oetker has been named the unofficial official frozen pizza of ozbargain I believe. Plus McCain just makes me wish I made my own…

    • Dr. Oetker over McCains any day
      currently $5 at Coles..
wish i had a larger freezer to stock up
      on the $3.75 sale.

    • Dr Oetker.

    • Papa guiseppe bakehouse crust by far, hopefully it will be on special soon ;)

Coles does better sales than woolies

    • +3

      Fanboi detected

      • -4

Coles fruit n veg are fresher too ;)

        • -3

Damn straight. WW fruit and veg are garbage. Coles isn't perfect but a lot better. They also seem to always have at least one kind of potato really cheap unlike WW.

Grapes from Coles always look pretty rancid in comparison to WW grapes though.

          @Benno123:

          haha why the negs right?

I like Coles cause they have sales that I need. You negs may like woolies for different reasons too. I go different stores for different things

        • @PeeDee:

yeah was disappointed when they 1st started "fresh food people" special - apple at woolies 99 cents/kg where Coles selling for 2.99.

The biggest difference was close to rotten (soft and full of small flies - two woolies) VS fresh (coles)

    • Woolies do decent sales for the last year and a half

Its just that you always feel ripped off(often are) somehow, and that's how the company operate.

As someone mentioned a while ago, Woolworths are run by accountants.

The whole orange tag a while ago, that had Orange(membership) lower price being bigger than the normal price, meant people like me were paying a higher price without knowing it unless we checked.

I feel I have to be constantly vigilant when shopping at Woolworths.

Also their 'essentials' brand/line are basically petrol station prices.

edit: waiting 10-20mins at Self service at Woolies also not fun

    • +1

Subjective as both stores just cycle the same products on special, just depends on any given week. Online prices on the other hand, hands down Woolworths it's better as their prices are the same as in store, not like the price jacked Coles online prices

    • Funny then how my shops always come out 20-30$ MORE at Coles and I walk out the door with less items every time, after shopping specials for years I can categorically state Woolworths has more items at half price (or better), better variety of health foods, generous targeted promotions, more items marked down below cost even far out from the use by date (I don't know why they do this), a better/fairer online cost structure and delivery network that reaches out to customers in rural areas without restrictions

I have also had far harder time returning electrical items to Wesfarmers stores (mainly Bunnings but also Coles) when a certain Dome product burnt out in a puff of black smoke within eight months of hitting the shelves, absent a docket they couldnt find reason enough to give a refund or partial refund and sent me packing, even after admitting that 1) the item has never been on sale and 2) it had been in the system for less than a year, in the same situation Woolworths have been far more reasonable and even allowed returns of out of warranty items that I had forgotten about

Coles are very pursuasive but they are not cheaper

Hmmm, doesn't sound like there are any good telco deals this week.

    • +1

From what i can see, each telco usually has a week with coles, then rotates to woolies etc… then theres 1 week at least with nil telco offers. Maybe this is the week.

      • +2

Nil telco for Coles, and only one for Woolies this week.

        • thanks for confirmation mate

  • +5

SFC shouldn't be listed as a bargain, its like 50% chicken guts, 50% coating… and its on sale every week

    • +3

      …and 100% garbage.

  • Which wine cask is on special, TA?

    • need a new pillow?

  • Kleenex 3 Ply Tissues 40pk $1.85 - is this toilet tissue?
If so, an absolute bargain but I know my precious bum won't like it..

    • You can use them to wipe your toilet and your nose, not necessarily in that order.

  • Is Tim Tam any good??

    • +1

Not if you're after chocolate, yes if you're after sugar, it's very sweet and addictive

  • Dr. Oetker pizzas definitely - once saw a lady @ the checkout with a trolley full of them ( no normal person has a freezer large enough to store that amount ) so told my husband to stay in the queue whilst I went to investigate the Pizza section - sure enough large Pizzas of all varieties & flavours on special for $3.00 ( this was about 2 years ago ) so I bought one - silly me , it was great, wish I had bought more. No more McCains crap for us. Will be heading back now to buy more - thanks .
