If you are a current sub you can get the platnium HD with IQ2/3 for 89 per month as part of a retention team offer, otherwise various discounts etc are available via the retention team if you haggle with them.

Otherwise there is the 3 months free offer currently for new foxtel by telstra subscribers.

    • Is that for a particular number of months? How do I get it? Call Foxtel and ask to speak to the retention team?

    • LOL, got offered Platinum for $99 just now….

    • I got full Platinum with HD for $85 and they gave me 12 free Box Office movies (i can use anytime in the next 12m)

Apparently need to have had foxtel for 2y or more to get the $85/$89 offer btw

I didn't know that "Foxtel" and "deals" could ever be used in the same sentence.

    • Foxtel/Telstra/BigPuddle appear to me to operate on a "rip the customer off as much as they possibly can but if they appear to be going to a competitor then start rolling out the deals" er … model …

Basically my tactic is to ring up and keep repeating the same thing over and over such as "I want $89.95 100Mbit cable internet service with 1TB data allowance and no setup fees at all including technician costs" no matter what the phone operator says - just keep repeating what you want regardless of what they say.

After about 2 hours you will indeed be offered 1TB cable internet for $89.95 per month with all setup costs waived.

Start of footy season will always be slow/dead on the deals front. They know people are signing up anyway to get the sports content & keeps them busy. They don't usually start offering anything until the end of Financial year "Happy EOFYs".

  • Mentioned by Copie but three three-month Foxtel on Telstra (Platinum HD) with no lock-in and no install fee is an amazing deal. Obviously only for Telstra customers though:

    • I was going to get that but I am not a Telstra customer

      • Interesting that it says, "You need an eligible Telstra Voice, Post-Paid mobile or home broadband service on a Single Bill or active Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile or Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband service"

I wonder if you could sign up just after activating a Telstra starter kit?

Yes you can if you activate a 2 dollar sim and signup with it.
