Can Anyone Recommend a Discount Makeup Store?

Hello OZBargainers
Could you please suggest any discount makeup shops, either actual shops or online, that you have tried? I looked up ozsale but the reviews on that were terrible.

Thankyou.

  • Have you tried The Reject Shop?

  • Do you want the fancy stuff for cheap prices (eg RRP $149), or recommendations for good-quality stuff that is normally a low price (eg RRP $9.95).

The former I don't know much about, except that the best prices will usually be for grey imports e.g. Catch of the Day, Kogan etc. For the second I try Priceline & the supermarkets. Aldi sometimes has some okay stuff too.

Such detailed post deserves many detailed responses!

  • Sorry, I should have given more information. It is for my tennage daughters. They want lots of makeup as cheap as possible but that won't ruin their skin.

Priceline is a pretty good place for beginners with a budget. All the brands stocked are well known and are actually part of the same company as some higher end ones eg. Lancome, YSL is under L'Oreal. Unfortunately, you just missed out their 40% off cosmetic sales that was on last week- it won't be back for probably another 4 months or more.

Places like Cheap as Chips and Reject shop do sell 'drugstore' brands like Maybelline for cheap, but in my opinion I would not recommend as they are usually very old stock. Makeup have a shelf life, the quality, texture of the product may change thus affecting the results, in addition, it could be a bacteria breeding ground!

Just start paying attention to the Priceline and Chemist Warehouse catalogues for their sales.

Chi chi is meant to be good. Sold at target.

NYX is popular with beauty bloggers. Target often has the products discounted at 30% off. There was a fantastic large palette that was about $20 which had multiple eyeshadows, blush, contour, lip colours.

    allcosmeticswholesale.com

Never had a bad experience, shipping times are OK, can usually find a code to use or catch a sale. Plenty of good deals on there, from drugstore to high end

  • Strawberry net and cosmetic capital has reasonable pricing.

Then again it really depends on the brand/s you are after.

Sasa - HK based is HUGE. I know when my friends and I travel to HK we are given lists of things to buy.

But seriously, not to be THAT person but really discourage facial coverage in makeup. Lipstick, eyeshadow etc sure but not skin. It is not beneficial. Their skin will be sooo much nicer in their 20s and 30s if they avoid it.
The damage is not so much the product but the remover required.
Trust me. I'm in my early 20s and NEVER wear makeup. Makeup artists say I look 17.
