here is some cheaper ram that's just slightly lower clock speed but that doesn't matter as your motherboard can only support 2133 anyway.

change that cpu to a non K chip as your motherboard doesn't support OC, it's only Z170 Motherboards that support overclocking.
Doing the above also means you won't need that cooler as the stock one will do fine.

Now im not sure if you are building a gaming pc or need a more powerful gpu but if you do and are building this for gaming you should change the gpu to a R9 390

Now if you want to overclock you can just change the motherboard to a Z170 which most likely would support the higher clocked ram and then you wont need to change anything but still should consider then R9 390.

    • Thanks mate! Much appreciated.

I changed it up a bit, what do you think of this rig? http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/RFR3f7

      • Looks much better.
idk if you really wanted to 2TB hard drve but it's only $29 to upgrade the 1TB WD blue to the 2TB WD blue

my 1TB secondary storage has 777gb worth of games installed to it lol

up to you but ill have to upgrade soon to a bigger secondary storage.

        • hahaha! i couldn't find it on part on partpicker, but ill most likely get a 2tb.

i only really play dota2, maybe sometimes league of legends or cs g.o, too many commitments these days, no time to game :(

  • Somehow after reading all those reliability test reports on hard drive failures, I dont trust Seagate that much although im sure they have improved in recent years. Storage is too important for me to take such risk. I would rather go with a WD Blue or Hitachi.

  • Agree with Axelstrife: for best value in a gaming rig, dial back your CPU to a non-K item, ditch the cooler, and spend the extra money on a better GPU instead.

  • Am I able to ask recommendations on this thread regarding building a computer or is it best for me to make my own thread ?
