Mazda 2 Genki

Hi,

Interested in purchasing a Mazda 2 Genki (Automatic) in the future. Either 2015 or 2016 plated would be fine. Looking at the mazda site http://www.mazda.com.au/cars/mazda2-hatch/price-and-specific… price comes to RRP: $24690. Does that sound about right to you guys - I know i can push it down a little, but surely not that much?

Has anybody done any recent deals with mazda 2 maxx or genki?

  • I look at carsales.com.au for the model I want and sort by price.

It looks like $21,990 is achievable for a Mazda2 Genki Auto: https://www.carsales.com.au/demo/details/Mazda-2-2016/OAG-AD…

You are better offer getting a Mazda 3 at that price point

  • Nah I reckon you'll be able to push it down heaps more, for reference the Mazda 3 SP25 auto can be had for $25.5k

It's a niche model, most people just go the next size up.

OP what is it about the genki that's ticking the boxes?

    • For me personally love the look of the car. Will really only need it to drive to work and on the weekend. Thought i would go with a small car with a bit of added perks the genki has.

      • What perks?

Just reason I ask is something like a Suzuki Swift navigator will do much the same thing. Hell even the Swift Sport is close to that sort of price, and it's an amazing car to drive!

        • I guess i'm talking perks in the sense that it seems much better than the neo version of the mazda. Although i wouldn't mind the mazda 2 max if it had gps added onto it. I have had a look at the swift before - the look just really isn't for me i guess. Already own the corolla so don't want to go there. Volkswagen is having all their diesel issues. Mazda just seems to be the obvious option. Although the i30 has definitely caught my eye - really like the interior but not a fan of the exterior.

        • @Interceptor:

No worries, just buy the Genki at the right price. Yes it's the top of the range model, but no one really buys it, meaning resale takes a dive :/

The neg on my comment probably because I'm a Suzuki salesman but the Swift Sport is 1 hellova car

        • I drove one of them, was a courtesy car for one of my flatmates, while his mx-5 was serviced. It's a nice little car. It has plenty of perks, such as a head-up display, a very nice navi & media system, partly "leather" seats and start-stop system (quite annoying as for me), the quality of interior is really nice. It's nice to drive and roomy for front driver & passenger (I'm 189cm).

  • So a month on, how did you go?

I'm needing to go for a hike to find a suzuki dealer. Dont like how the Sport is missing the reversing camera. I'm going to assume they are being fitted for free?
