[Melbourne] Where Can I Find Someone to Help Me Deliver a BBQ

Hi guys

Just wondering, I would like to buy a BBQ 4-burner)which may be very heavy and large. My Nissan Patrol may not be able to fit it. How should I deliver it home? If I want to pay someone to help me deliver it, where could I find them?

Thanks. Being a bit confused about it.

Gumtree, plenty of cash-in-hand transporters lurking there.

    • Thanks.

Cheers. Nice website. Will keep it.

  • You can usually rent a pantech truck with a lift on the back for around $80 per day. Might be cheaper than paying someone to deliver it. Bunnings also offer free ute rental if you buy something bulky but you would then need to be able to lift the bbq into the back of a ute.

  • Can't you pull it apart a bit? When I bought my 4 burner many moons ago it fitted in a falcon wagon in the boxes.

Failing that hire a box trailer, or scheme the bunnings freebies. Trailer will be cheaper to hire than any vehicle.

Edit: and if you have a Patrol without a towbar there is something wrong!

    • Agreed. I brought a 4-burner home in the back of the Prado. Just unbolted maybe 8 nuts and bolts.
Take WD40 and a couple of shifting spanners, plus a drop sheet or similar to protect the interior.

    • Thanks. I do have towbar. But still have problem with reverse parking with trailer…
I have checked with the store. They said normal SUV is enough to carry it. Cheers.

  • Buy a plank of wood from Bunnings and borrow their trailer? Or simply buy from somewhere that offers delivery?
