I was hoping if someone can tell me the best option in terms of getting a reduced latency/ping when connecting to a gaming server in SEA (Singapore) without having to switch to another ISP (if possible). Currently with TPG which seems to route from the US then back to Asia.
Do services such as a VPN/WTFast/Battleping actually work in reducing lag?
I'm not much of a tech wizard but if anyone could help, it would be much appreciated!
Not sure if this will help, but I'm with TPG, and at one point, using a VPN actually increased (3 mbps to 6 mbps) my usual download speeds. Soon after, VPN speeds were throttled down to 3 mbps. I don't know how or why, but that was really annoying.
I too would like an explanation from someone who knows how and why this could happen. Anyone?
I was doing for the same reason you were. Gaming. My suggestion is maybe asking a friend to allow you to use their VPN just to try things out.
