Signed up to Telstra Cable - Been 2 Weeks and It's Saying I've Used 0% of My Data?

Hi all!

Recently signed up to Telstra's new Cable/NBN deal.

I've been up and running for roughly 2 weeks now, when I go to 'My account' page, it states that I've used a total of 0% of my Data. Now, I heard form someone that the first month you sign up, they give you a months free data? I'm not sure to believe that or not, it's just a bit strange it's saying 0% data usage; I'm not complaining at all, just wanted to know why.

Any people had this issue, and what was the outcome?

Thanks!

  • It appears to be a national issue with the usage meter.

My usage for Telstra Cable hasn't updated since 29th March so I checked the Service Status and saw this:

    National Usage Meter Current Interruption
Customers may be unable to access their call or data usage details via Usage Meter.

    There's no ETA.

    • So does that mean "unlimited" internet :D

  • Same here, also shaping hasn't been imposed even though I know I would have reached my limit.
Hopefully when they fix it, they don't have our usage data. But I have enough top ups to cover if they surprise me with shaping by the end of my billing month.

  • I just had a Live Chat session with Tesltra about some billing issues (which they resolved remarkably quickly) and added this 0KB usage issue at the end of the conversation. The support guy said that he would escalate the issue to Bigpond and gave me a reference number for the request. It wasn't the first time he had heard of this, and he told me it does get resolved.
    Let's see how things go…

Now all your data is being routed via 24x7 surveillance and filtered for keywords that might indicate any kind of social disobedience, disagreement with official government positions, and/or a need for re-programming at a propoganda camp, the usage meter is broken.

Helstra have put in a claim to George Brandis for some money to fix it. As soon as he approves the payment, they'll try to fix it, but it will take a few months because the data will have to be routed to India so the development team can design a fix and test it without it breaking the surveillance feed…
