The headline says everything you need to know! Starting today, April 21 at 10am Pacific, Rocket League is FREE TO PLAY for all users regardless if you’ve bought it or not. If you are one of those players who has yet to purchase Rocket League, however, then you can grab it at a discount of 40% off until 10am on April 25.

        On the other hand, Rocket League is the kind of game that even people who don't normally play video games can have fun with.

        It is one of very few games that my significant other has ever actively suggested we play. Have tried many video games with her, this is the only one that's really stuck.

        I play this with the missus all the time. Hook up 2 xbox 360 controller with a wireless dongle to a pc on your tv and kaboom. Instant addiction. It took her a bit to get used to it but now I know if I pop the ball in front of the goal she will likely be there to hit it in!

          I just played 20mins of it and it was the most fun game I've played. I also have two controllers and the wireless dongle so I think I have to buy it.

          Yeah just do it. I ended up getting all the dlc as well (i have had it a while) because its cheap and I like to support the devs. I barely play other games now and Rocket League is the reason why I still haven't finished GTA V or Fallout 4.

          Plus being able to play a game with the missus that she actually enjoys is great.

          The trick is when your partner totally stuffs up a save to make sure you quickchat "What a Save!" they really like that!

    Great game. Good fun to get drunkies and play. I think the Hoops mode will be active very soon too.

          @Bearosaurus: I know that a lot of us in this country has really poor internet, but 2.2GB really isn't a lot. I feel sorry for anyone in your position.

          My copy of Halo 5 was 30 gigs or something stupid. I think Fallout4 is 20 gigs?

          That would take about 11 hours on a 0.5Mbps connection. With steam giving you the ability to pause downloads indefinitely all it takes is a bit of patience to allocate some time to leave it going when no one is going to be using your connection.

          Edit: I preloaded half life 2 on dail-up using steam. It really isn't a big deal if you just leave it go overnight.

    I have owned a PS4 for over a year now, and still to this day all I've really played on it is GTAV and Rocket League. If you don't already have this, get it.

    I feel like this game may of been cheaper at some point with GMG?

    Are there any sellers who sell this game inclusive of DLC as a "deluxe version" as I want all the DLC besides the soundtrack and it may work out cheaper than to buy it all separate as part of this sale?

      The deluxe version only contains the soundtrack AFAIK. Have only seen the DLC as separate.

    I personally don't think the game is dying. I would think this is to introduce new people to the game before the release of the Hoops mode. It's an excellent game and the DLC is just cosmetic so it's not like you have to pay to win at all. Easy to learn, hard to master. Worth the full $25 (approx. don't remember how much exactly it is.

      Some of the best players play with KB+M. It's personal really. I use a controller, but a friend of mine uses KB+M and does far more insane stuff than I can do.

    Downloaded the game, got into the training and game crashes. Anyone know how to fix this? Searched everywhere and no fixes :( So excited to play after downloading all day..

    Thanks to when they had it free at launch on PS+ I got to experience just how insanely fun this game is. I never would have tried it out otherwise.
    Highly recommend even if you're not into FIFA or sport games.

    I have a mate overseas that has only ever had playstations. Got to play a video game with him for the first time in a long time thanks to the cross platform play. Really considering buying it now.

    I've wanted this game for ages, couldn't get it for my pc, as I did a test to see if I had enough ram/graphics, etc. it said no. So I was going to buy a PS4 and then buy it. Bit expensive for my taste. Lucky I didn't. With this free trial, I though what the hell, download it, see if it will work on my computer….and it did!!! So I bought it!!!! $15!!! Instead of over $400!!! Nice!!!!!! Thanks OP!!!! :D

    Is it worth buying now? Like once the free weekend is over, the player numbers will be back to before - what were they like?
