Just checked, I think I got mine from Costco and they are also Made in Indonesia.

Well sure it matters.
If you believe one of the largest corporations in the world cannot manufactuer a simple cleansing product* that they've been making for decades when operating in a very large third world country that has amply qualified workers.
Personally I usually buy Dove at dollar stores as I think it matters not at all. In the case of cars (a technological and engineering marvel and a status symbol) sure European made means something. Mixing together some ingredients and making them into a boxy shaped thing … not at all.
- Dove Beauty Bar isn't actually a soap. Some people count this as a negative usually accompanied by a lot of hippy "natural good, man-made bad" cave man type mentality but I think it's the perfect facial cleansing product: it's very cheap, ph balanced (it won't dry out your skin) and it's an effective cleanser.
There are less ingredients in the Indonesian variety so it's not an equivalent product
I had been using the German bars to wash my hair (it gives a silky soft feeling like you have washed with conditioner) and noticed immediately something was off when my new bar dried out my hair and turned it into a tangled mess after one use, alot of dollar stores stock the original bars but the supermarkets buy the larger multi-packs which are guaranteed to contain Indonesian bars

Saw this on Saturday in store. Priceline stocks made in Indonesia soap bars unlike the made in Germany at Chemist warehouse. Not sure if it matters though.
