K9VPS - Anyone Else Been Scammed by This Provider?

The deal was posted here a year ago, and looked good, so I went with it, and signed up for a year.

Signed up, got an invoice, sent the money through Paypal, got a paypal receipt and a K9VPS receipt awesome.

They sent me access details, followed by an email that told me my account had been cancelled for non-payment. Umm.

I opened a ticket, asked WTF, and they told me that they needed authorization from Paypal:

Title: K9VPS PayPal Authorization
I, <insert PayPal name>, address: <insert PayPal address> , authorize transaction ID# <insert transaction ID> be charged by K9VPS on <PayPal payment date>

Which is utter bullshit, since the money had already come out of my account. I pointed this out, then radio silence. They stopped answering my emails. I wrote it off as a loss, and went on with my life.

Fast forward a year, and they've again taken out the same amount of money from my account. Remember - I still have no access to the system.

I email them, and demand a refund for both payments, and for them to stop the recurring payments (which I never authorized) since I hadn't received service. I attached receipts, and copies of the email trail.

They come back to me (I think there is only one guy working there, the owner) and simply stopped the recurring payments. They didn't even acknowledge my request for a refund, or the 10-odd attachments I had listed. Then they closed my ticket.

I opened another, and he has the gall to ask me which ticket I was referring to. I've sent maybe 5-6 emails to this company since, and no response.

To anyone else who took up this 'deal' last year, check your bank accounts, and make sure you've cancelled recurring Paypal payments on your end.

Scum.

You can cancel recurring payments from paypal yourself.

have you asked paypal if they can get a refund for you since no service was given?

idk if that has buyer protection like buying off ebay.

Too late to open a case for original charge but you can contest the recent one with Paypal to get your refund.

  • Yeah I've cancelled recurring payments and after badgering them for over two weeks received a refund for one of the amounts. They are now refusing to refund the rest because it goes against their ToS.

PayPal doesn't refund for digital services :/
