Bad Habits of OzBargainers

There are a lot of great people on these site, but also sometimes negative attitudes.

Some that come into mind for me:

  • Users not seeing things from a business/owner point of view. E.g. small business owners that have made genuine mistakes and then abused as a result.
  • Negative voting a deal/comment because it's not good as one posted 18 months ago, even though it's long expired or sold out. The posted obviously has put some effort into submitting.

Any other thoughts?

Bad habit: checking OzBargain when I have 20 other things I need to do…

Refreshing OzBargain repeatedly at work throughout the day and then go home and do the same thing.

Have you got any examples of these issues ?

    • It is peppered throughout OZb people negging and putting deals down because "the deal is not as good as …." Have a look at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/243219 where I got 'belted' when posting a deal for a CC 50,000 QFF

Don't forget crazy conspiracy theories on OzB and it's staff!

        • I just created a forum post so we can have a poll about what you just suggested. For transparency.

@Spackbace: Sorry that post is speculative rather than factual. I'm going to have to neg you for transparency.

People asking about the best way to exchange money overseas, since the answer is always the same and all they had to do was a search (although the wiki, which has the most useful repository of information, is rather obscure for most Ozbargainers).

    • Hey look, a wiki.

Getting into a lenghty argument/exchange about something mostly irrelevant to the post with someone else that also does not have much else to do

  • Hijacking threads and getting them closed.

Nothing worse than a thread being forced to close.

Blatant lies to get the clicks.

I have noticed this in the thread section, where some don't tell the whole story or quite simply made the whole thing up.
