Cheaper to subscribe to Stan/Netflix via Apple ITunes?

It seems like the cheapest way to subscribe to Stan/Netflix is by buying iTunes gift cards when on special, and then subscribing to the service via Apple TV. Is there any downside to doing this? I think only Apple TV gives you this option (not iPhone). I guess once signed up I can still use other non-Apple devices, ie Xbox?

If someone can confirm that would be great!

    Hi there. Once you have signed up via ATV, you can use the login on any other devices. Saves 20-30% as ITunes cards are always on sale :)

    You can purchase through iPhone or iPad as well. You can watch them on any device (inc non Apple).
    iTunes cards are always 20% off at Officeworks.

      Not for Stan last I checked, but for netflix yep :)

    I figured this out pretty fast, I actually did it after the Optus freebie ran out. love that office works always has iTunes cheaper.

        i used the email i use for my apple id, so completely separate

    Save a further 5% by using e=gift cards from www.cashrewards.com.au when buying from Big W or Woolies.
