Printing of Magazine

Hi there

Any idea how I can get these done at a reasonable rate?

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I am starting a magazine and will start with a quantity of 15 000 - 5 x A4 pages folded in half to make a 10 page booklet. No staples. Good quality white paper, printed in black & white.

Kind regards
Jenny

    Printer here.

Do you specifically need no staples? That will add cost because a saddle stitcher (booklet maker) auto collates and staples the books together. To find a printer who collates but doesn't staple will become a 'custom' job so you miss out on getting the more competitive online pricing.

If you decide staples are ok then Google 20pp A5 Booklet online printing. You'll have a raft of prices to compare. PM me if you want me to quote as well.

Your job will be less than half the printing cost if you could get it done in China, but the air freight costs on that volume of paper will be prohibitive (around usd$1000) unless you can wait for the 6 weeks by boat. If your magazine becomes a regular thing then you might consider getting everything done in China and boated here but you bring your editing deadlines forward a month to accommodate the delivery times. For example you have July's issue printed now so when it arrives it will be the right month for distribution.

    Best of luck

  • Hi,

Once printed, how are you going to distribute your 15,000 magazines?

Will in be put in an Envelope or Plastic sleeve?

If using AusPost, it isn't cheap, even with bulk postage.

(or are you hand delivering or using for a conference?)

  • Hello all

    Thank you for replies.

I thought without staples would be cheaper but obviously not. Ok so its now with staples.

With regard ti distribution. These will be delivered to some homes, reception areas; restaurants… I live in a regional town in NSW so was thinking of doing the distrbution through our local pamphlet dekivery company.

To the printer: yes please I would like you to quote. Also - this will be a fortnightly magazine & payment will be cash.

    Kind regards
