Essay Assignment: Proofreading and APA Referencing Check

Hi, I was wondering if there are any university students who have assignments or essays in particular checked by a third party before submission?

Looking on Google there is a lot of people that offer this service but I can't tell which are legit and which are not. Also, some seem to charge a bomb to proofread or suggest edits to your work.

If you use such a service please share the information. At my university the liaison officers may only check that your referencing and not the actual content of your work.

    I ask one of my coworkers (who was doing undergrad psych) to read over mine. she just reads it to make sense of it. slight corrections. sort of "altomic, WTF does this part mean?!?!" or "spell check it first and stop wasting my time".

    APA referencing - there are a few sites that provide excellent guides. I've been using this site from USQ

    APA referencing marking gets less strenuous through uni. 1st year - you get massive deduction for using 14point font and not italicising every second letter of the co-authors middle name, by 3rd year - as long as it looks about right then the markers don't really care.

    I've never used third parties.

    Just import all your sources with EndNote and it'll format all your references. It's free and most unis encourage you to use it.

    As for proof-reading, just get a friend to skim over for to check for flow and logical through-line. It's not worth paying for.

    I'm sure there are many students who pay to have their assignments "proof read".

      Someone was recently busted at my university paying another student to do his assignments so I think if someone who's first language is not English it is helpful to have huge assignments thoroughly checked for everything. I think my problem is I lack confidence sometimes ;(.

    Get your friend to read your essay ALOUD. That is the best editing.
