12% off RRP for a high-priced professional tool. Could this break all records on OzB?

Most popular chainsaw deal to date was a $56 battery one. Good luck.

You being serious?? Electric chainsaw has a cutting speed of around 3.5 m/s and this one has 17.3 m/s. Electric is good for city folk needing to cut a few twigs, maybe show masculinity by pruning the roses. This husky is not a bad deal for a second chainsaw. Sometimes I wish I had a smaller chainsaw and if I had the spare cash I'd seriously be tempted.

:-) I was just pointing out what is popular here.
I cut down a mature tree with an electric saw, admittedly a conifer.

My EGO 56V does 12 m/s, I cut down/limbed quite a few trees and it didn't break a sweat. Admittedly it's $350+ but it's great to keep in the 4WD for track clearing and not worrying about mixing petrol, fumes etc.

That said, I wouldn't touch anything under 36V as those will just gnaw at a decent hardwood for long minutes before they run out of juice (and you get tired for pushing the saw down hard on the tree… "Oh come on, cut it!!!").

To sum it up, not all electric/battery saws are equal, just like petrol ones aren't the same - I wouldn't compare the petrol Ozitos/Ryobis to the Stihls/Huskys we use in the SES.
