Free Comic Book Day is the comic book specialty market’s annual event where participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their comic shops. Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2016, the event is held the first Saturday in May each year and is the perfect opportunity to introduce friends and family to the many worlds of wonder available at local comic book shops. Use the international search option to locate participating retailers in Aus, there are some 30+ cities/suburbs listed. Examples:

      When the 'deal' was posted and when the above comments were made, there was no mention of any stores.

      It was just a post on 'Comic Book Day', which was more suited to a forum post than a deal…

        The post didn't mention any stores, it was merely advertising 'Free Comic Book Day' until it was edited.

        The fact that a mod was required to edit the post, justifies the comments above that the post wasn't valid as a deal…

        It did state that comic book stores were giving away free comics, and posted a web link. But I see your point regarding better clarity.

    They vary a lot by store, as well as the time of day.
    I usually go as early as possible, and it's not too bad yet.
