Insurance renewal rise

Hey all,

Just got my renewal with AAMI for being with them for a year and got 25 discount for my new year. I was paying 65 a month, now they put it to 80 for the same inclusions. If i do a new policy its cheaper and they suggested that but i want to build a good record. I havnt had any accidents nothing has changed.

I might look around any suggestion of a reliable insurance company

It is called Lazy Tax. Google it.

  • They always do it.
Often its cheaper to start a new policy.
I switched from Coles to Allianz which was almost 300 cheaper.

  • Agree with andyvolk just get a new online quote

Have zero loyalty to insurance companies. They will actively compete for new customers whilst seeing how much they can stretch the loyal customer.

Every renewal go with the cheapest option that ticks the boxes.

  • Thanks guys,

I thought the longer im with them and have a clean record discount would come. Did a online quote with allianz and turns out to be 62 a month plus free road side assistance for the first year.

Anyone tried Youi, i read some review all negative.

  • I've been with Aami for at least 15 years.
I have an extra 15% lifetime discount through safe driver I think it is. So you do get recognition for loyalty over the years.

My experience with Aami has been wonderful when I have had to claim.
I would t hesitate to recommend them.

Are you saying that they are telling you to take out a new policy with them(Aami) and you'll get a cheaper quote, or the fact if you go to another insurer it will be cheaper?

My friend uses Bingle and they seem to be fine.

    • Get a new quote from AAMI and you will find your new policy still be cheaper than even with extra 15% lifetime discount :)

  • They stated if i do take out a new policy it would be cheaper which i found funny.

Yep called Allianz they were cheaper.

I might call around. Just wanted to stay with AAMI my dads been with then for 35 years and never had a issue

    • There's no more loyalty. I had four insurance policies with aami and one by one I've moved them all away.

I'm over 30, never had a claim but they were 200 - 300 over per policy on some. I rang them and gave them an opportunity to negotiate but they refused.

I was insured with them for 6 years straight. They were never the cheapest, but sometimes it's worth paying an extra 100 for better service. Once that became 200 - 300 per policy I couldn't justify it.

      • Who did u change to

        • 2 policies are budget direct, 2 are gio now.

    • I found both AMMI and Allianz offer similar product, same good service so I always switch who ever offer the best deal at the time of the renewal with a new policy, so far I save around $100+ per year from all the policies I have.
