Does 2010 Holden Epica cdxi diesel has a DPF installed?

Does 2010 Holden Epica cdxi diesel has a DPF installed?

BTW, is it a good car by any means?

Initial model started in 2008 but by 2010 they would have made up all the mistakes from the past, I assume.

is it a good car by any means?

Absolutely not! The Epica is a rebadged Daewoo.

    • Correction, not a rebadged Daewoo, it was designed and built after GM bought out DAT, making the company GMDAT.
They were a reasonable car but weren't too popular, didn't sell too well. I'd go the 2.5l if that's an option.

      • It is 2l turbo diesel.

  • Thanks guys. Requested the guy who was selling the car to send the dashboard pic and found it, it has one.

  • Don't buy it unless it is really cheap.

    • It is for 7k,guy said can go early 6k, 2010 model with 5 MTS rego, done around 163k kms.but I do a lot of short trips so a car with DPF won't be good for that. Diesel without a DPF should do it.

      • It's an orphan model (didn't last long) so will be worth nothing in a few years.

      • Correction, reviews say DPF is good compared to earlier Holden's diesel model. Car was designed with the help of Australian engineers who tweaked the car a bit for Australian market.

  • Yeah, only buy if really cheap, also read some online reviews, they aren't great cars and didn't sell very well at all.

    • Thanks. Looking to pass as reviews are mixed and uses the same engine as diesel Craptivas.

  • Found another Diesel, 2009 Hyundai Sonata Diesel, done 180k kms. Its also got DPF, Hyundai calls it Catalyzed Particulate Filter (CPF). Read something that CPF in Hyundais are much smarter than Holden's DPF.

In a mixed mode, whether to go or not for it. Any expriened with this car?

    • Never mind, this one is gone.

  • I really wouldn't recommend ANY diesel for short trips. Diesels are for long distance drivers and a constant speed in non start stop traffic (hence why so big in Europe not here). You'll have lots of problems regardless of a DPF or not.

    • Because Europe has so many wide open spaces for long distance driving? I always thought it was because fuel is so much dearer and you get more kms for your $ out of a similar size diesel car.

    • A friend of mine does a lot of short trips on Ford Mondeo TDCi and he said he never had problems with it. For me, where I commute, I have to drive at least 20 mins on freeeway once a week, which may help DPF function.

  • Actually, had a test drive of Epica diesel today, drives well n good features. Not bad at all.

  • The guy was happy for pre-purchase inspection. Price is decent for 2010 model. How much should be the 'buyable' price for it? Redbook says 7100, he's already on 6. Any serious bad point to back-flip??????
