I Just Became an OzBargain 'member' after Two/Three Years of Using OzBargain

I just became an OzBargain 'member' after two/three years of using OzBargain. Is there anything that I should know of about being a member? Anything will be appreciated, thanks.

    Hi and Welcome.

It's a courtesy for new member to transfer an "appreciation fee" to older user such as myself. Usually around $500.

I'll pm you my bank account.

Some members can be aggressive or even overtly hostile, but these are often for reasons that have nothing to do with you, so don't take it personally
    … you dick.

they are just flexing their epeen.

I got interrupted while typing my initial comment by a yoga-loving witch. Soz :)

Edit: welcome, Tablapros! Most of us are friendly:)

Sounds dutch. What is that, an exercise band? Well, in that case I can definitely outflex you JJB. Yeah, I'll flex the shit out that epeen. I train almost everyday, so your pathetic epeen doesn't stand a chance.

@outlander: why did you change your gravatar? The other one was so much more intriguing.

          @Jar Jar Binks:
It helps to change things up every once in a while, get something fresh. Keeps the heat off my tail, you feel me? Plus it was kinda making me sad to look at, bums me out. Where you able to get the reference?

I found some happy music for you. Should help with that epeen envy.

        • @Jar Jar Binks: great, now I've got milk on my desk >:3

So you've heard of aurora before? I really thought you were more of an aria-charts type person. You've thrown me a little off balance.

Why the quotes around happy? She seemed very happy to me. With her spastic movements and wide eyes, she seemed so happy she struggled to contain it. You didn't find it uplifting?

@outlander: Because there's 'happy' and then there's the kind of 'happy' that almost requires a trigger warning. So here goes:

If you or anyone you know is experiencing a personal crisis or thinking about suicide, please contact Lifeline on 131 114 or beyondblue on 1300 224 636.

          'night, Outlander. Sweet dreams.

Shouldn't those past few years answer your question already ? No offence, but this isn't rocket science

I take the OP to mean, what can I get as a member that I wasn't able to get as a guest to the site? I think it's a fair question.

      • +1

Did you needed someone to hold your hand when you signed up on ozb? Or did you figure it out yourself, reading and doing some exploring?

Perhaps op should read up on the wiki page for the basics missed in these past few years.

Some of the top users are 'younger/newer' than the op

    Welcome to OzBargain.

If you have an interest in a particular store or a particular category of bargain you can subscribe to the store or category. The system will automatically send you an email if a deal is posted in the relevant section. You can also set up search alerts for specific items or terms you are interested in.

Have fun and happy bargain hunting.

And don't do what I did by going crazy and ticking all the categories you are interested in, because you will wind up with at least 20 emails per hour and it quickly becomes tedious spam instead of delicious bargain alerts.

Also there are conspiracy theorists. Stay away from them.

Especially if you mention top posters.

      • +4

Then stay away from ChoiceCheapies mate ;) ;)

OP also be wary of fake stories, people will do anything for attention.
