that would be the tim tams.

trying to decide. this or coles 330gram pack for $2.25

      • I'm hoping Mint Slices are included in that as well.

        • Normally Mints are as well :-)

@xoom forgot that arnotts made tim tams. thought it was some kind of knock off. thanks

Oh yea fair.. But how come they're not called Tim Tams in the specials list? I swear they're always called Tim Tams by name. This would be like calling Google "that American owned search engine… that makes maps and stuff".

        • +1

I think its to cover all tim tam flavours since there is plenty of varieties.

      • Gaiety's are far superior to TimTams. Do yourself a favour. You're welcome… :-)

IGA has Tim Tams for the same price until tomorrow night :)

      • Unfortuantely both IGA's near me shut down :(

      • I know. My mum bought 15 packs. Thanks for the table formatting!

Is it me or is Coles and Woolworths tag-teaming on some of the specials? It seems to me that if I missed out on a special one week I can get it the next from the competitor. Btw, not complaining about it just saying.

    • +5

It's definitely something that I've noticed when compiling deals. Often items that haven't been on special in 3-4 months go 1/2 price, and it is then followed by the competitor next week, can't be a coincidence.

Also noticed that the same item going 1/2 price at both coles/woolworths in the same week almost never occurs.

This happens on lots of specials. I've been seeing the pattern for years. Most half price specials work like this. The suppliers agree to give one major supermarket the special one week and then the other supermarket the next week. I guess they are seen as being fair to both. The only products this doesn't work on are the ones that only rarely go on half price special. I don't always rush one supermarket when they have particular half price specials because I know the other one will have the same product at much the same price very soon. In any given week you can usually find Cadbury medium chocolate bars at around $1 in at least one of the major supermarkets. IGA also seem to participate in this system for some products.

      • Or it could one supermarket complaining when they see their competitor get the half-price deal and also asking for it too?

Grain Waves, Doritos, Pine-O-Clean, BioZet, Cold Pwer etc are ones I've noticed a lot too.

        • +1

It's possible, however the specials often run back to back so that doesn't really allow planning time.

      • Noticed this with the Vaalia - Woolies had it $3.50 then coles had it for $3, now woolies have it for $3

  • Thanks lyl and spackbace

  • What is the deal with the supermarkets? Last week Coles had Vaalia yoghurt for $3, this week it is Woolies. I mean it is great if you miss out on a special, but dodgy asf.

  • Any ideas what the Zte Blade is?

Is it the office works one or the optus version of the buzz?

    • Guys, I found this phone is on sale again next week, but although it has a 5 inch screen, it's not IPS…

For those keen on the Tim Tams, look here too :)

  • What's everyone's go to price for paper towels (aka kitchen roll)? The Viva this week are 50% off, $2.45 for a 3 pack, $1.36/100 sheets. How good is that?
