Nobody should ever pay $4 for 130 grams of fried/baked potato.

    90c is good though!

I tried them a few weeks back when my local coles had them for $2, truth said, prefer the mission brand corn chips instead. At this price have a +ve

I tried these recently. They're ok in flavour but the corn chips are a bit too tough for my liking. Pringles should stick to potato chips, it's what they do best! Worth a try for 90c but definitely not at RRP!

    • Yeah, I found them rather gritty as well as tough…probably good for your bowels, but not as palatable as other brands.

90c is about right IMHO, given the pack size. :)

  • +1

Wondering what state this is in? I tried one @ $2 before. Not bad at all I say.

    • NSW :)

      • All stores in NSW?

        • Nope, $4 here in castle hill

  • +2

Not surprised they are 90c. They are just missing something. Wont be around long.

    • My mate likes them. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out why.

  • Wasn't what I was expecting, ended up tasting half decent though.

    • so was it dec or ent?

  • +1

They are way too salty.. As above, they won't be around long.

    • +7

      I disagree with you

      • +8

Gave you a +. We all have different opinions :-)

      • +3

Ha, I agree with you here Bear. But still think Costco Rotisserie chicken is too salty. I understand they are soaked in brine, maybe that's where they get the taste from?

        • +2

          lol so…….. off-topic

I think I tried the Cheese supereme, or something along those lines. It had a weird cheesy chemical taste to it.

They are also made in Malaysia instead of the US like the normal Pringles.

If people are interested in spicy Pringle, take a look at Woolies. They are clearing out some of the Xtra line of Pringles, the Jalepeno, and fiery sweet grill. I picked up a can for 80 cents. Its clearance, so might be hard to get, but worth a look the next time you are there.

    • +1

sad to see those go. The Xtra Jalapeno line is really good.
Too good infact almost a blessing they'll be off the shelves so I can't buy/eat them anymore. They're just too convenient to open the can and go I'll eat just 3 and close it and ignore it and then 10 are gone and you've already visited the can 2 times that day already.

      • totally this, I just demo'd a can of the jalapeno cheese ones! first time I had tried them… they're great.

    • wonder what happened to the cheddar cheese pringles..it doesn't look like its sold anywhere anymore

    • +1

They're clearing out the Jalepeno?? Nooooooooo!!!!

I'm so addicted to these, its like eating a dorito shaped like a pringle lol.

  • OK value at 90c.

Basically just a flavoured corn chip in Pringles shape.

They did seem a bit harder than I expected (maybe my brain is comparing them to normal princles instead of normal corn chips). But despite that, they where still broken into a million crumbs by the time I opened them. You'd have thought I'd dragged them home from coles tied to the towbar with string.

  • Yeah, tried at $2 for nachos chips replacement. Too little for the price, but I guess two packets might make up for it.

  • +1

What location? I understand they are $3.00?

World Square has it for $3 still

    • +3

maybe because the world is a circle not a square?

  • Any good for making nacho's?

    • +1

Perfect alternative. I tried with some mozzarella cheese and oregano seasoning on them. Yummmmmy

Probably close to expiry. Got some beer nuts at half price from Coles the other day and they tasted stale.

My advice is buy one to taste first.

      Totally agree with you there

          Okay ilmiG

    • Since they are a relatively new product, I would assume that they aren't going to expire soon. My guess is one of the dorito reps screwed up and ordered too many for a display. Source: was a grocery manger for a few years - reps love to order big ;)

      • +1

Actually they are hitting low code with July/Aug U/B dates. Uptake is poor since launch and heavy discounting has started. Will be in the Reject Shop or NQR soon enough.

        • Wow! What a poor launch. I guess I'll see them at the Reject Shop (I go there for the Strawberry pods)

  • +2

    Expensive for salty fried cardboard

    • +15

perhaps you should try eating the inside contents instead of the wrapper

    • +1

I would have thought they were baked cardboard

  • Picked these up on the weekend and couldn't believe they were only 130 grams. Put them back down and kept walking. At 0.90c, probably worth it but rarely shop at Coles these days.

  • seems it's the same fat. content 29% as normal corn chips ….. bonus being there aren't broken ones in the bag…. but no better or worse from dietary perspective the Doritos or CCs ….
forgot to check if made with palm oil and so,loaded with saturated fat.

  • I tried the Nacho ones when they were $2. Not sure about the Cheese ones. Hmmmm…That's a tough one.

I thought they were OK. I finished the tube in one sitting. Perhaps I was hungry, perhaps I liked them. Not sure.

If I see them for 90c in VIC, I might get a few.

  • My local Coles in SA has got 2 for $5

  • There's less weight in these. If you put two cylinders next to each other the normal Pringles chips are taller and have Net 150g (instead of 130g). The texture isn't that good either but the flavour is rich.

  • +2

I tried them a few weeks ago, they don't taste good at all, there is no crispness in them, I would not buy them again even @ $0.90 or even free. It is a bad product.

    • I'd agree, tastes like stale Pringles - would rather wait for the usual 30% off a normal (larger) can!

  • These were interesting chips but I agree with the commenters who disliked them.. they're not to my taste. That said, it's a good deal if you DO like them!

I think they've been produced for the SE Asia market and have been imported here as a trial. Smaller can, overly sweet and made in Malaysia.

Interesting video on how they're made (stacked chips in general)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ogZcvXBqQ

    • I work at Coles and it says made in USA on the box.

      • That's interesting….the can I bought said product of Malaysia.

    http://www.afr.com/business/coles-sticks-to-national-pricing…

Friendly reminder that Coles/Westfarmers has a national pricing policy, so the cheapest price nation wide is THE price in ALL stores ;)
Also, any manager that refuses to honour their corporate policy deserves to be reported for their incompetence, so make sure to record the time date and their name, or even better, ask them to put into writing why they're not honouring their companies nation wide policy :)

  • Still $4 at Coles in WA (kardinya)
